The Queensland Cake Decorators' Association Inc. (QCDA) is an organisation of members who have a pass The Queensland Cake Decorators’ Association Inc.

(QCDA) was formed over 40 years ago when several cake decorators gathered together to share ideas and skills in this art. Since these humble beginnings the Association has grown tremendously. QCDA has Branches affiliated to our Association from Gold Coast to Mareeba, and west to Dalby. Each of these Branches are working in their community and surrounds through displays and local shows to bring this fascinating art to the public. Our Association is a non-profit organization where all members give of their time voluntarily. The QCDA has a panel of Judges who have undertaken extensive training and examination before being accredited. These Judges are invited throughout the State to judge Local Country Shows, the Brisbane RNA, and are often called upon to judge for Interstate competitions. Our Judges also judge our own QCDA Annual Competition. QCDA CAKE COMPETITION AND DISPLAY. Date: Friday 9 September to Sunday 11 September 2022. QCDA STATE SEMINAR. The dates for our next State Seminar are yet to be finalised. QCDA BRANCH DEMONSTRATION DAYS. Also, throughout each year a number of our Branches hold Demonstration Days, these days are a time to develop our skills and learn new techniques etc. All our Branches welcome new members who are interested in the art of cake decorating, and who are looking at developing their skills. Our Branches when holding their meetings usually prepare a demonstration and/or hold workshops. Sharing of ideas is once more the main aim. Cake decorating can be a rewarding and fulfilling craft and can be learnt by anyone. It is up to the individual how far they wish to pursue their skills.

Do you love cake decorating and want to help keep this wonderful craft alive for future generations?

The Queensland Cake Decorators’ Association is looking for enthusiastic members who would like to become involved at the state level.

You don’t need to have previous committee experience, and you don’t have to be an expert at everything! We all have different skills to offer, whether it’s organising events, helping with social media, welcoming new members, sharing ideas or simply lending a hand when needed.

We want to build a friendly, supportive team that works together to bring our branches and members closer.

✨ Share your skills and ideas.
✨ Help organise exciting events and activities.
✨ Have a say in the future of our association.
✨ Make a difference to our cake decorating community.

Not ready to commit to a committee position? That’s absolutely fine! We would also love members who can help with individual projects or events.

Our QCDA State AGM is coming up, and we would love to see as many members as possible come along to show their support!

The Peninsula Branch is hosting a relaxed day by the bay at Woody Point on Saturday, 7th November 2026. 🐬

Come along, catch up with fellow members, enjoy some lovely food and help support the future of our wonderful QCDA!

Morning and afternoon tea and lunch are included in the $35 cost, along with $5 worth of raffle tickets.

🎉 QCDA 45th Birthday Celebration 🎂

As part of the QCDA State Seminar, we celebrated the Queensland Cake Decorators Association’s 45th birthday! 🥳

One of the highlights was our beautiful Sugar Art Birthday Card Competition. 🍰🎨✨

Congratulations to everyone who took part and shared their creativity and amazing sugar-art skills. There were so many wonderful entries, making it a very special way to celebrate 45 years of QCDA.

Great opportunity to learn Blooms in sugar

We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and skill with you and teach you how to make some simple sugar flowers. No experience is necessary and you will go home with a small selection of flowers. Great to pop on a birthday or anniversary cake!!

We had so much fun on the weekend learning all about buttercream, practising different piping techniques, and discovering what each tip can create.

A wonderful weekend of learning, creativity and, of course, plenty of buttercream fun!
