What a truly beautiful day our Social Support groups enjoyed last week at the stunning Coochiemudlo Island - a hidden gem right on our doorstep!

From the moment we arrived, it was all about slowing down and soaking it all in. Gentle walks along the shoreline, breathtaking views and even a few toes dipped in the ocean… the perfect mix of relaxation and joy.

Lunch at the charming Curlew cafe was a highlight with delicious food, plenty of laughs, and wonderful company made it extra special.

All too soon it was time to hop back on the ferry… although if we’re honest, no one was quite ready to leave this little slice of paradise

Days like this are what it’s all about - connection, fresh air, and creating moments that matter.

We had a delightful day out with our fabulous Red Hatters crew! Our adventure began at the iconic The The Ginger Factory, where we wandered through the grounds, explored the attractions and soaked up the charm of this much-loved destination.

After sharing a lovely lunch (and plenty of laughs), we headed off to a true chocolate lover’s paradise at Nutworks and the Chocolate Factory, where a little indulgence was definitely on the menu!

It was a day filled with friendship, fun, and fabulous memories. And of course, we all agreed on the official rule of the day… calories don’t count when you’re on a Red Hatters adventure! 😄

Last week our group went a little wild… and we loved every minute of it!

We spent the morning exploring David Fleay Wildlife Park Queensland National Parks, getting up close with some incredible Australian animals and learning more about the unique wildlife that calls our country home.

After all that excitement, we headed to Saltwater Creek Hotel to refuel with a well-earned lunch and plenty of great conversation.

It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, wildlife encounters, and wonderful company. Days like these remind us how special it is to get out, explore, and share experiences together.

💦Weather Update for Townsville and Cairns Regions💦

We are closely monitoring Tropical Low 29U currently being tracked by the Bureau of Meteorology.

At this stage, there is no official cyclone warning. However, heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding later this week remain possible.

Our team is reviewing services in these regions and will contact clients directly if any bookings are impacted.

We had a wonderful morning celebrating community at the Community Grants morning tea.

Our CEO, Amanda Mather, had the opportunity to present and share a little about the work TransitCare is doing to support people to stay connected — whether that’s getting to a job interview, attending training, or simply getting out and about in the community.

It was also great to see Amanda spending time with Hon Steve Minnikin MP, chatting about how important community transport is in helping people access opportunities and stay engaged.

A big thank you to Transurban for supporting programs like ours and for bringing together so many organisations who are all working to make a positive difference.

Smiles all round today as we officially received our grant cheque from Transurban to support our 1000 Journeys to Employment program.

This program is all about people.

It’s about young people who are ready to study, train and work — but simply need a safe, reliable way to get there. Because if you can’t get to training or a job interview, you can’t take the next step toward employment.

Through our partnerships with Mission Australia and Multicultural Families Organisation Inc. - MFO, we’re helping remove that barrier - one journey at a time.

We were also delighted to welcome Rowan Holzberger, Member for Forde, to the cheque presentation and to share how community transport changes lives every single day.

A huge thank you to Transurban for backing this initiative and believing in the power of connection and opportunity.

Because sometimes, the right transport at the right time can change everything.
