Our Social Support team had a fantastic day at the Southport Retirement Living & Senior Lifestyle Expo, connecting with members of the community and sharing the many ways TransitCare supports older Australians to stay active, independent, and connected.

It was wonderful to meet so many people, answer questions about our services, and highlight how our Social Support programs help reduce social isolation while creating meaningful opportunities to build friendships and stay engaged.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand to say hello. We look forward to supporting even more people in our community.

📍 Meeting with TransitCare CEO Amanda Mather
It was a pleasure to meet with Amanda Mather, CEO and Anna Harrison, Cairns Branch Manager of TransitCare to discuss the important role the organisation plays in supporting people across our community.

TransitCare provides essential transport and community services that help many residents maintain their independence, stay connected, and access vital appointments and activities.

We spoke about the growing demand for these services, the challenges facing the sector, and opportunities to continue supporting those who rely on community transport.

Thank you, Amanda and Anna, for sharing your insights and for the outstanding work TransitCare and its dedicated team of staff and volunteers do every day to improve the lives of people across our region.

This week, TransitCare proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week 2026 and this year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly" by joining communities in both Cairns and Townsville for their NAIDOC Breakfast celebrations.

These events were an opportunity to reflect on the courage, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over the past 50 years, while also recognising the work that continues to create a more equitable and inclusive future.

Our CEO, Amanda Mather, attended both events with branch managers Anna and Dean, and was inspired by the powerful messages shared by Elders, community leaders and advocates. From celebrating culture through dance, music and storytelling, to discussions about health, education, representation and preserving culture for future generations, the week highlighted the strength and richness of First Nations communities.

At TransitCare, we know that connection matters. Transport plays a vital role in helping people access healthcare, education, employment, social connection and cultural opportunities. We are committed to working alongside communities to reduce transport disadvantage and help build more connected and inclusive communities across Queensland.

Thank you to the organisers, speakers, performers and volunteers who made these events such meaningful celebrations.

As we celebrate 50 Years of Deadly, we honour those who came before us, celebrate the achievements of today, and look forward to a future built on respect, partnership and opportunity for all.

This National Volunteer Week, we celebrated the incredible volunteers who help keep our communities connected every day.

From flowers and chocolates in the north to a beautiful high tea in Beenleigh, it was our opportunity to say thank you to the people who give so generously of their time, kindness and care.

A very special congratulations to Wendy Harvey and Shirley Hampton on achieving an amazing 18 years of volunteering with TransitCare! What an extraordinary contribution to the community.

Our volunteers are the heart of TransitCare, helping people stay connected to medical appointments, social activities and their community and making a real difference along the way.

The Role
We have part-time, full-time, and casual driving positions available in the Logan area, with weekend, public holiday, and evening shifts on offer. Training provided. Previous experience in driving or community service roles preferred.

Yesterday we held our Driver Training Program and it was a fantastic session focused on strengthening the way we care for and support our clients.

Our drivers play a vital role in our service, ensuring clients are transported safely, respectfully, and with compassion every day.

The training focused on safe driving practices, client communication, and handling a range of situations professionally, all while keeping our clients at the centre of everything we do.

We are proud of our team’s ongoing commitment to learning and delivering high-quality care. Investing in training like this ensures our clients are always in safe and capable hands 💙
