Friendly General Quilt and Heirloom Crafts Groups that meets several times per week
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9 am - 1pm and
- Monday and Tuesday nights 6 pm - 9pm.
- Modern Quilt Group 1st, 3rd, and 5th Friday 9am - 1pm
- Machine Embroidery Group 2nd and 4th Friday 9am- 1pm
- Busy Bees group 3rd Saturday 9 am - afternoon
- Weekenders Group once per month Saturday/Sunday 9 am - 4pm
Beginner Quilting 2nd Saturday 9am-1pm
Permanent facilities with equipment available for use by members. Charity work is a feature of the club and social activities are always high on the agenda. Beginners' classes and other workshops held throughout the year.

Last night Beenleigh Quilters held our annual Christmas Activity night. Members from across all groups met to create interesting Christmas crafts. Tutors donated their time, expertise and treasured craft supplies to give us a memorable night.
As usual we closely watched the radar and worried about the weather.
As usual everyone brought a plate and we had the most delicious supper.
And as usual we had a wonderful night with lots of different items made.

Another load of items donated to Defenders for Hope today. Toys, books, pencil cases, toiletries, beanies, mittens, food for their pantry and seven quilts. Some of the toys were kindly donated by Judy Thorntons group, they will be kept for Christmas gifts. Thanks to those that donated the items and made the quilts.🙏

The Quilters Store is at Beenleigh Quilters clubrooms all this week. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, 9 am to 11 am. Visitors welcome.

Beenleigh Quilters love receiving donations of fabric etc. It comes through many and varied paths. This recent donation came via Sonya, our Charity Coordinator’s hairdresser!
It will be put to good use making a range of quilts and useful items for hospitals and charities.
What we cannot use will go to Let’s Give to make children’s clothing.

The second photo shows a recent donation by BQ to Logan Animal Shelter. 12 dog beds made from saved scraps, dog coats and old towels.

Tomorrow at Beenleigh Quilters machines will be busy as one of our “whole group” Charity days are held. Gwen and her helpers have been tirelessly preparing kits and instructions because the sewers are enthusiastic and early.
Most items made are distributed across South East Queensland, but some make it further, to Western Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Recent donations have included:

34 quilts to Gold Coast University Hospital Palliative Care and ICU.

75 patient belonging’s bags also to GCUH.

7 quilts to Robina Emergency Department End of Life Unit.

These quilts are able to be made because of the generous donation of fabric by the wider community, the hard work of Gwen’s support crew and time and efforts of the everyday members of Beenleigh.

Beenleigh Quilters are enjoying the company of Riverbend Studio all this week. Joy’s popup shop will be with us Tuesday until Friday from 9-11 am and Tuesday evening 5-6 pm.
Visitors very welcome.

B Q always enjoy receiving acknowledgment for the donations we make. This one came from the daughter of a patient at the Gold Coast University Hospital. By June this year Beenleigh Quilters have donated 269 quilts to GCUH Palliative Care and ICU units.

Hello, Thank you for the beautiful quilt you donated to the Gold Coast hospital. My Mum had it on her bed and it was so colourful, and we just knew it was made with love and kindess. After she passed away I draped it over the back of my couch in the lounge room. It reminds me of my lovely Mum and your lovely members. All my love from Kerry.
