Despite the soggy start 102 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 9 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 10 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 20 amazing volunteers who helped out in a huge number of roles. Thank you team for coming out to help.

Lake Claremont parkrun started on 23rd April 2022. Since then 6,629 participants have completed 26,867 parkruns covering a total distance of 134,335 km, including 4,162 new Personal Bests. A total of 441 individuals have volunteered 2,911 times.

If you are coming to Lake Claremont parkrun tomorrow we can't wait to see you!
Please arrive by 7:45am as we have important information about some fencing that has been put up in the dog park area, and we want to make sure that everyone is aware and knows what to expect on course.

Big excitement at the lake this afternoon. A snaked-necked turtle laid its eggs right next to the pathway at the playground. Luckily a caring person called it in and the Land Care Officer put some protection around the nest. The officer will improve the protection soon. It takes 6 months for the eggs to hatch- so everyone is going to have to be mindful and help protect the nest. There have been over 12 predated nests this year due to quenda, foxes and ravens so our turtles need all the help they can get. 🙂

This year the annual Walk for Daniel Day coincides with parkrun on Saturday 31st October. parkrun has collaborated with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to promote parkwalk for Daniel on this day.
At Lake Claremont we will be joining in the national parkwalk for Daniel Day and ask that participants wear RED.

parkrun supports the safeguarding of children. The work that the foundation has done over the last 21 years in memory of Daniel is nothing short of amazing and there are some great resources to help you ensure your children are kept safe.

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation provides personal child safety education to children and young people at no cost, to prevent harm and abuse.

Lake Claremont park run
Event number 237
24 October 2026

This week 138 people ran, jogged and walked the course.

The event was made possible by 16 awesome volunteers including the AMAZING Russ who celebrated his 200th volunteer!!!

To put this into perspective, this was our 237th event and Russ has volunteered all of his 200 times with us. Russ and Chris’ dog Rosie should get extra pats too as she has volunteered 200 times as well!

Lake Claremont Park run started on 23rd of April 2022. Since then 6612 participants have completed 26,765 Park runs covering a total distance of 133,825 km, including 4151 new Personal best. A total of 439 individuals have volunteered 2893 times.

Unfortunately I have not been able to access some results from this morning, but hope we will be able to recover them from the barcode scanner in due course.

However, I will process what results we do have.
