There are suggested patterns on the website but please feel free to create whatever you would like – a great way to use up your stash of wool! We will find a deserving “home” for any hand knit whether it be for baby, child or adult. Finished garments can be dropped into one of the participating stores listed on the "Drop off points" page on the website or posted to:

Winter doesn’t start in June. It starts with your needles, today.

Spring is the secret season for KOGO. The cosy things that reach people in colder months are often cast on in warmer months.

This season, we’re calling on you to craft:
🧸 Toys. A knitted bear or bunny can be the first thing a child gets to call their own.
👶 Baby cardigans with matching beanies. Small sets that make a new baby, and a new parent, feel looked after.
🛏️ Cot blankets. Soft, snuggly and made for the littlest sleepers.
🧶 Adult blankets. For people sleeping rough, women in refuges and families doing it tough.

Every stitch is a gift for someone you’ll never meet. Cast on today to help us distribute most in need items.

At KOGO, we’re seeing more and more amigurumi arriving at KOGO Hub and honestly? We’re obsessed!

Every stitch = hours of kindness from a volunteer who chose to make something for someone they will never meet. For a child in crisis accommodation, that’s not just a toy, it’s the first “just for me” gift they’ve had in ages.

Got a hook and some yarn scraps? Your next amigurumi could be someone’s treasured toy.

A gorgeous cardigan on its own? Nice.
A beanie on its own? Sweet.
But put them together in the same colourway and suddenly “handmade” turns into “this was made for you.”

So here’s our call to our : could you knit or crochet a matching beanie and cardigan set for a baby in need?
✨ Keep it simple: a classic garter-stitch beanie and a button-up cardigan like the ones pictured are quick, cosy wins.
✨ Pastels, stripes, colour-blocks: have fun with your stash!
✨ Every set you make goes to a bub whose family could really use the warmth and the love stitched into it.

🐥 Meet our newest KOGO recruits: seven knitted ducklings (one’s already trying to escape into a KOGO gift bag 😄), sitting proud on a pile of blankets made entirely by our KOGO volunteers.

A handmade toy isn’t just yarn. It’s a hug a child can hold onto, proof that someone out there was thinking of them. That’s why we keep calling-out our most needed items so we can keep providing a little extra warmth to children doing it tough.

If you’ve got needles, a hook, a bit of wool sitting in a drawer we’d love you to craft a toy.

🧸 A box full of kindness, ready to go! 🧸

Meet our latest delivery of hand-knitted teddy bears. Each one is made stitch by stitch by generous volunteers, and each one is about to bring comfort to a child who really needs it.

For kids in crisis accommodation, refuges, or facing hardship, a soft handmade toy can mean the world. It’s often the one thing that’s truly theirs. Something to hold onto when everything else feels uncertain.

We need YOUR help to keep spreading kindness!

If you knit or crochet, grab your needles or hook and whip up a teddy, bunny, or any cuddly friend you love making. No pattern too fancy, no yarn too leftover. Every single toy finds a home with a child who needs it.

This is what ‘WE NEED YOU’ looks like!

This is KOGO Hub right now - Shelves cleared out, tubs waiting to be filled. It means the winter woollies you’ve knitted and crocheted have gone exactly where they’re needed most: into the arms of families doing it tough across Australia.

But we need to fill them back up, and cot and pram blankets are top of the list. A small blanket can make a huge difference, swaddling a newborn, softening a cold night, giving a mum one less thing to worry about.

As Lincraft’s stores progressively close their doors, we want to recognise the incredible support they’ve given KOGO over the years. They are committed to staying a KOGO drop-off point right up until closing day, and will keep sending every donation straight to us.

Our KOGO team is already hard at work finding alternate drop-off locations for every community affected but while your local Lincraft remains open, please keep using it as your drop-off point! Every beanie, scarf and blanket you drop off at Lincraft will make it to someone who needs it.

🧶 EMPTY SHELVES…WE NEED KOGO ELVES🧶

We have been wrapping Australia’s most vulnerable in warmth since 2004 but right now our shelves are bare, and we cannot support requests from our community partners.

We need: 👶 Baby blankets: size 1.2m x 1m 🍼 Pram blankets: size 75cm x 75cm

Grab your needles, your hooks, that stash of yarn you’ve been “saving for something special” this is that something special! Every blanket you make is warmth, comfort and love for a family doing it tough.
