People’s Pantry is Looking for a New Home! 📢

After 2 wonderful years of operating at the Carnegie Toy Library and serving our community through food sharing, unfortunately, the time has come for us to relocate our People’s Pantry cabinet.

Over the past two years, the pantry has been a place where our community has come together to share food, support one another, and reduce food waste. 💚

We are now reaching out to our wonderful community for suggestions on a new location where the pantry can continue making a difference.

📍 If you know of a suitable space, a local business, or a community organisation that might be happy to host our pantry cabinet, we would love to hear from you!

Let’s work together to find a new home for People’s Pantry and keep the spirit of sharing alive! 🥫💚

Please comment below or send us a message with your suggestions.

Thank you for being part of this beautiful community initiative! ❤️🙏🏼

One fine morning, While we were cleaning the People’s Pantry, an angel quietly came by and stocked it up! ❤️ Just look at that generosity!

Every Saturday, she shops specifically to donate to the pantry — bringing everything from baby food and everyday essentials to sanitary products. Such a thoughtful gesture and a beautiful example of our community looking out for one another.

We are so grateful for kind-hearted people like her. Every little contribution can make a big difference to someone in need.

God bless her and everyone who continues to support our community. 🙏❤️

Home-made muffins donated by this lovely lady and her adorable dog. 🧁🐶

She regularly supports People’s Pantry with her generous donations, helping bring a little extra kindness to our community. Today, I had the opportunity to personally thank her for her thoughtful gesture.

It’s amazing how small acts of generosity can make such a big difference. Thank you for your continued support and for helping make our community a warmer, more caring place. ❤️

A message from Kelli Lawson, our Breakfast Club Coordinator:

Dear families, I'd like to share a simple method of finding out how to access food support in your local residential area or within close proximity.

Step 1: go to foodbank.org.au/find-food

Step 2: Search your suburb or postcode

Step 3: Choose the type of food you need - "Food and groceries to prepare" or "Meals prepared on site"

Step 4: Choose a service from the list to find more information.

A local food support within close proximity to Glen Eira College is:

Emergency Relief: 1134 Glen Huntly Road, Glen Huntly 3163.

(03) 9571 7644

Simply go to foodbank.org.au/find-food and key in 3163 for Glen Huntly. This page will take you to the information regarding food items available and opening times.

Home Food Packs available at GEC

Every Saturday your donations help make sure that members of our community have access to essential groceries and support when they need it most. Your generosity, compassion, and willingness to help others truly make a difference.

Because of you, our pantry shelves are fuller and more people in our neighbourhood can feel cared for and supported. Thank you for being such a wonderful community. 💛
