Thanks to the crew and Radio Officers for putting in around 300 volunteer hours.

Log on if you are heading out, we expect the boat ramps will be busy and parking at a premium so get out early. Log on with us on Ch73. The new MRQ Log-On App will be released in the coming weeks.

"Rain, Rain Go Away, Come Again Another Day". The good news is that the high pressure system in the Tasman Sea is starting to move East and taking some of the moisture with it. We will still have rain for most of the week with some sun pushing through. Here at the Pelican Waters Marina we have had 274mm of rain over the past 9 days. The Caloundra Wave rider buoy is back up and running with peaks of almost 4 meters. The winds and swell are still on the high side so not much fun offshore. With all the wave action everyone needs to be careful on the Bribie Bar. You are in the Safe hands of BRAVO Crew this weekend with Captain Jerry back on deck for his first MRQ Duty. Stay save on the water and log-on if you venture out.

Maintenance Day is always busy and today was no different. We received a call concerning a vessel in the canals that was sinking and the owner was away.

We quickly formed a crew from the maintenance people and headed up to the vessel via the lock, which was incredibly slow to open. On arrival, we put two crew on the pontoon and and the others stayed onboard CD21 ( Caloundra Rescue) . The stern was under water so after some struggle and towline pressure from the jet boat, we eventually raised the stern about 100mm and started the pump to empty the hull out.

After about 15 minutes, she was floating and we left her in the safe hands of a couple of concerned neighbors. It looks like the heavy rain from yesterday and no operational bilge pump, may have contributed to the problem.

Thanks to the crew and Radio Officer for another tricky assistance successfully completed.

Though the weather was not the best the crew undertook lots of training including towing, Helmsman-ship and bar crossing during the day.
