Tomorrow is National Walk Safely to School Day — a great reminder to slow down and watch for the many children walking, riding, scooting and skating to school.

It’s all part of the RideScore Active Schools Program, helping students choose healthy, active, and sustainable ways to travel while reducing traffic and emissions around our schools. Even better, it makes the journey fun for kids and gives parents peace of mind with real-time arrival notifications.

Let’s all take extra care on our roads and support safer, more active school travel in our community.

An innovative initiative designed to reward students for choosing active travel options.

Public comment is now open on the EPBC referral decision for the Caloundra Transport Corridor Upgrade (CTCU) to inform the federal government’s decision on whether it can proceed and under what conditions.

With the footprint of the project being within an existing road corridor, the project was unlikely to have major environmental impact.

Public feedback is open on the Caloundra Road, Nicklin Way and Pelican Waters Boulevard intersection upgrade, with environmental submissions closing May 12, 2026.

We welcome Council’s latest update from the Citizens’ Panel — it’s great to see strong community input helping shape the future of the Sunshine Coast.

What stands out is how closely this feedback aligns with what our community has been consistently advocating for:

🔸Protecting our natural environment and green spaces
🔸Supporting housing that locals can afford
🔸Improving public transport and reducing congestion
🔸Preserving the Coast’s unique character
🔸Making it easier for people to understand and get involved

This is exactly the kind of constructive, community-driven conversation we need as our region grows.
