Ready for State of Origin game 2! ❤️🩵

Once again, IMPACT Community Services' teams got into the State of Origin spirit today as we count down to tonight's match.

As always, thanks to our Social Connect team for organising and to those who wore their team's colour. No doubt we're going to be in for a nail-biter!

Check out our biscuit decorating set-up at Maryborough Central State School's Under 8s Day! 🍪

IMPACT Community Services' Family Mental Health, Youth Wellbeing Initiative (HERE) and Intensive Family Support teams loved being part of a fun day connecting with children, families and staff.

Thanks to Maryborough Central State School for having us and to everyone who stopped by to decorate (and enjoy!) a biscuit.

"STRONGER TOGETHER" is a weekly column where IMPACT Community Services Managing Director, Tanya O'Shea, explores key issues. This week Tanya discusses why the cost leaders scrutinise least may be the one affecting their people the most: cognitive load.

"It struck me that while we are disciplined about financial inputs, there is one cost we almost never question with the same rigour: the cost of cognitive load."

💛 A simple visit can change a life.

For five years, Ursula has been bringing friendship and connection to older Australians through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) delivered by IMPACT Community Services.

The program matches volunteers with seniors experiencing social isolation.

From sharing stories in German to visiting with her dog Charlie 🐾, her journey shows just how powerful human connection can be.

Even the weather couldn’t dampen the spirit at our recent Kebabs on Sticks BBQ! 🌯🔥

Held at Alexandra Park, this free community session brought people together to connect, share stories and build skills. It was part of the Food: Help Happens Here initiative led by Wide Bay Kids.

With the support of Jodie from IMPACT Community Services' Intensive Family Support team and Christine Sorbello from Foodbank Queensland, participants prepared chicken and beef kebabs while enjoying plenty of laughs along the way.

In a twist of fate, the incoming storm meant we had to pack up early… which also meant after all that hard work, the kebabs didn’t quite make it onto the BBQ! 😄 But while they went uncooked, the conversations were more than enough to fill everyone up.

Thanks to everyone who joined! 💛

Thanks to Parent to Parent Qld for inviting our Inclusive Employment Australia team to speak at the Gladstone Disability Forum. 🙌

May was a busy month for Louise, our Community Engagement Facilitator, who once again brought along the IEA goodies and connected with attendees.

It's always rewarding to showcase the world of work opportunities available and the local support that's there every step of the way.
