Bundaberg’s first major new hotel in more than 20 years has reached an exciting milestone, with the 97-room MVP Airport Hotel now "topping out" as construction progresses.

Located alongside Bundaberg Airport, the development will bring much-needed new accommodation, conference facilities and greater capacity to welcome leisure, business and event visitors to our region.

It’s another strong vote of confidence in Bundaberg’s growth as a destination and an investment in the infrastructure that will support our visitor economy into the future.

Great visitor experiences don’t happen by accident. 👏

Last week, tourism operators from across the Bundaberg Region came together for Tourism and Events Queensland’s Best of Queensland Experiences Program Workshop, getting practical about how we can keep lifting the visitor experience across our region.

From ATDW and Google Business Profiles to online reviews, the visitor journey and the pathway to Silver and Gold BOQE recognition, there was plenty to take away and put into action.

A big shout-out to the businesses who showed up, leaned in and are committed to continually improving. And thank you to Tourism Events Queensland for continuing to support our industry.

When our industry keeps learning, improving and working together, our whole region benefits.

How long have you lived in the Bundaberg Region? Lived in Bundy for just over a year but have been in Wide Bay/Fraser Coast for 5 years.

What is your favourite thing to do here? I enjoy camping and fishing when I can find time. There are so many options to choose from.

Why are you volunteering? I enjoy meeting people and talking travel experiences.
