What a night! 💚 🪴

On Tuesday night, Bushlink had the absolute privilege of pitching to Ku-ring-gai businesses and the local community for a share of an incredible $85,000 in funding through Bendigo Bank Lindfield.

We were one of 10 charities given the opportunity to get up on stage and explain why our project matters.

And ours is pretty simple…

We want to bring Bushlink to the Ku-ring-gai area and help reduce loneliness for older people living independently in their own homes.

Our team can come and help with their gardens, but it’s not just about the gardening. It’s about having a cuppa, a chat, a laugh and creating a genuine connection.

The funding will help us establish Bushlink in the area and make this service possible.

And then there were Rob and Will. 🙌

Our incredible supported workers absolutely smashed it on stage. They brought their personalities, their humour and a little bit of dance moves that had the audience completely blown away.

Honestly, you couldn’t have scripted it better.

Now, we can turn that pitch into something pretty special for the Ku-ring-gai community.

We’ve been trialling TradeMutt shirts as PPE for the Bushlink crew and they’ve certainly been turning a few heads.
That’s exactly the point.
A funky TradeMutt shirt gets noticed. Someone asks, “What’s all that about?” A conversation starts. People connect.
We love what TradeMutt represents because it feels very close to what we’re trying to build at Bushlink. Wearing the shirt says you’re part of a crew with shared values looking out for each other, talking openly about mental health and creating a place where everyone belongs.
These are a few shots of our crew from projects over the past few days. And yes, the shirts have definitely been conversation starters.
Now we’d like to take the idea one step further.
We’re looking for a sponsor to join us in creating our next Bushlink x TradeMutt shirts, co-designed with our participants and inspired by the people, places and outdoor spaces that make Bushlink what it is.
If your organisation believes in inclusion, meaningful employment, mental health and the power of belonging, this could be a pretty cool way to wear those values on your sleeve literally.

The Bushlink crew spreading their joy and skills in Manly at the Adolescent and young adult Hospice 🌱🪴

A huge thank you to the team from Bushlink for all their hard work at AYAH! 🌿

The crew did a fantastic job tackling our overgrown bushes and shrubs, working with outstanding professionalism and enthusiasm. They even joined Chef Phil for lunch!

We highly recommend Bushlink’s services and look forward to welcoming them back in the future.

🌳🌿 National Tree Day may have been yesterday, but at Bushlink, caring for our environment isn't a once a year event. It's what our supported workers live and breathe every day. 🌱

Every tree planted, every garden restored and every project completed is about making our planet a better place.

We welcomed some special friends to join us in the field so they could see firsthand the incredible work our team does. There's nothing quite like getting your hands dirty and seeing the impact up close. 🤝

In the past six months alone, our team has planted more than 1,500 trees across the Northern Beaches. 🌱🌱 That's 1,500 steps towards a greener future for our community.

To our incredible Bushlink team, thank you for showing that making a difference is about turning up every day and creating lasting change for our environment and our community. 🌳🌱🍃💚

Change starts by listening. On Tuesday, July 7th, 2026, we had the privilege of hosting a community forum at Northside Enterprise Ince and Bushlink with our local Federal MP Zali Steggalli Steggall OAM MP, bringing together participants, primary carers, clinicians, allied health professionals, plan managers and disability providers. What emerged wasn't a debate about whether the NDIS needs reform. It does. The question is whether we can achieve financial sustainability without losing sight of the people the Scheme exists to support. The lived experience in that room deserves to shape policy just as much as spreadsheets and budgets. Our CEO Duncan Wakes-miller captured some reflections from the evening in the article below. 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝘂-𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗴𝗮𝗶!
We're currently looking for people living with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities to join a training team in Ku-ring-gai. Our teams learn how to regenerate bush, maintain grounds, and perform gardening for older people.

This is a great opportunity for ambulant people who enjoy being in the outdoors, like using their hands, and can be part of a small and safely supervised team.
