Why does Census Night, Tuesday 11 August 2026, matter more to Australian homeopaths this year?

Five years ago, homeopathy failed to appear as its own occupation in the national statistics — “A profession needs more than 300 people to record it as their main job before it's recognised as a stand-alone occupation for the Occupation Standard Classification for Australia”.
Currently the occupation ‘homeopath’ is under Health Professionals nec (not else classified), where it previously was a standalone occupation.

New Delhi is taking steps to strengthen homeopathy and further integrate AYUSH systems into mainstream healthcare. Speaking at World Homeopathy Day 2026, Health Minister Pankaj Singh highlighted that more than 120 homeopathic dispensaries across the city provide free consultations and medicines to around 1.9 million patients each year.

The government also plans to expand services, improve infrastructure, support research, and promote integrated care models that bring together Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Yoga, and conventional medicine to better meet patients’ needs.

The survey is for all Homeopaths, Students of Homeopathy (at any level), and anyone prescribing Homeopathy in their practice.
You don't need to be Registered in Australia, you can have patients overseas, but you yourself need to be in Australia.

The survey will close at midnight on Friday 31st August AEST
