Hope for Jane: Sanfilippo Children's Foundation

Hi everyone,

We would like to let everyone know that Jane passed away on Wednesday the 7th of January 2026 at about 7pm. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

We would like to thank all of you for the love and support you have given Jane and our family over the years. She touched so many hearts and has made such a lasting impact on everyone she met.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you please donate to the Childhood Dementia Initiative to help support other children like Jane and their families, and fund research into the disease.

Jane’s funeral will be held graveside at the Tallangatta Cemetery on Monday the 19th of January at 10:30am. We ask that you please wear your brightest colours and patterns as that’s what Jane loved the most.

Happy 11th birthday Jane! Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes, we can’t believe how big our little girl is. She spent the day surrounded by love ❤️

Last week Jane had a trip with the road to respite to Very Special Kids in Melbourne. She had such a blast! What an amazing service they provide, we are so grateful she gets to have this experience. Thank you Very Special Kids!

Hello Everyone,

A little update on Jane! Still the same beautiful girl just growing everyday. A recent trip to the Royal Children’s Hospital for X-Rays with mum and big sister Katie went well and she stayed very still and did an awesome job!

Last week, Jane went to stay with the team at Very Special Kids ,
It was really hard for me to leave Jane for the first time.....I was definitely taken out of my comfort zone...
She had a great time, hydro, therapies, outings,
State of the art facilities. Recently rebuilt and re-opened late last year...
All of the staff were just amazing!
Very Special Kids support families that have a child with a terminal illness.
We have a family practitioner that has been on our journey for a few years now, however never have been mentally ready for a hospice stay.
We will definitely be advocating for their whole cause.
What a difference to have them in our lives......thankyou Very Special Kids ###

Jane just turned 10 on Sunday ( double digits!!)
She even was trying her hardest to say 'birthday'!

Jane has started to have significant seizures....this one scared the pants off me....8 minute tonic clonic. We had a trip in the ambulance and off to hospital.
I hope we don't have many more of these.... however probably 'normal progression of the disease'.
