A huge congratulations to our award recipients at last night's Scouts Tasmania AGM and presentations evening.

◇ Group Leader Brian Williams received his 60 years of service award.
◇ Committee member Stephen Crean received his 20 years service award.
◇ Venturer leader Carolyn Gregory received her Silver Wattle award.
◇ Joey leader Lee Cowen received her Silver Koala award.
◇ Scout leader Bronwyn Crean received her Silver Emu award.
◇ Scout leader Evan Eastman-Peck received a Special Service award.

An informal memorial service for Stan Kilpatrick is being held at the southern end of Blackmans Bay beach at 11am this Saturday 11/4/26.
All are welcome to attend.
(Please wear your scout uniform if you have one).
His daughter Kate has suggested you might like to bring a chair. At this ceremony they will be scattering Stan's ashes, as well as those of his wife.

Stan Kilpatrick 1925 to 2026
Last week we said goodbye to scouting stalwart Stanley Kilpatrick.
Stan was born in Ireland and spent most of his early scouting with sea scouts in Ireland and Scotland. He worked for many years in Iran and the Middle East with a Petro-chemical company before moving to Queensland in 1969 where he quickly continued his scouting with the Bayside Sea Scouts in Brisbane.
Stan and his wife found Queensland summers a little too hot so they bought a "shack" at Blackmans Bay where they spent the summer months. When Stan's wife passed away, Stan sold up in Brisbane and moved permanently to the Blackmans Bay property. He soon made contact with Blackmans Bay Scouts and became a Scout Leader with us. He was an active leader into his 90's helping our scouts with boating skills in particular. About 7 or 8 years ago he gave up his leader role and served as a member of our scout Group Committee for a couple of years before health issues restricted his activities. Stan has spent his last few years at Snug Village Retirement Home.
