CWA: Blackheath Branch

Earlier this week a jam and marmalade making workshop was held by our branch at the home of our President Kerrie Yealland. Members learned to make raspberry and licorice jam and lemon marmalade. Pictured are (from left to right) branch Land Cookery Officer Kathryn Hibbert, Sharon Walls, and Cultural & International Officer Fay McIlwraith. The jam and marmalade will be available for sale at our rooms on Sunday 12th July.

Another moving ANZAC Day service held at the cenotaph, which is situated in the Blackheath Gardens. Both the dawn service and the 11 a.m. service were well attended by locals and visitors. As usual, the autumn weather was stunning. Lest we forget.

Our branch president, Kerrie Yealland, laid our wreath at today's ANZAC Day service, which was held in the Blackheath Gardens at the cenotaph. We also donated book vouchers to the local schools - Blackheath Public School, Blue Mountains Christian College, Megalong Public School, and Mt. Victoria Public School. Lest we forget.

Our branch members will be attending the 11 a.m. ANZAC Day service at the Blackheath Cenotaph tomorrow. We will also be handing out ANZAC biscuits to everyone who attends. Lest we forget.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our rooms on Sunday. We hope that you are enjoying your purchases. The monies raised will go towards supporting our local community as well as women and families across the state. Our next sale will be held on Sunday 12th July. Until then, keep warm.

Our rooms will be open on Sunday, 12th April, from 8 am till noon. We are located in the red brick cottage in Blackheath Gardens, where the Grower's Markets take place. We accept cash and cards. Our members are looking forward to seeing you.
