And that's a wrap on bentART 2026!

Wow. What a ride!

Every year this exhibition reminds us just how much heart and talent lives in our community and 2026 was no exception.
We had 103 artworks on show, 780 people walked through the doors, and 26% of works found new homes which makes our artists very happy indeed!

2 workshops that got everyone creating, and the wonderful Dr Christine Dean gave a talk that had the room captivated. The raffle was a hit as always and our People's Choice Award went to the incredibly talented Kim Koford congratulations, Kim, so well deserved.

But honestly? The numbers only tell part of the story.
The real magic was in the conversations between artists and visitors, the laughter during the workshops, the pride on every artist's face seeing their work on the wall. That's what bentART is all about.

To our curator Nick Stathopoulos thank you for your incredible eye, your vision and for bringing this exhibition together in such a beautiful way. The way the show came to life is a true reflection of your talent and dedication.

To our judges Michael Simms and Gill Nicol thank you for giving your time and expertise so generously. The care and thoughtfulness you brought to the judging made it truly special.

To our committee thank you for the late nights, the endless planning and for making it look effortless.

To our sponsors thank you all we definitely could not do this without you.

To our artists thank you for being brave enough to share your work with the world. You are the heart of this event.

To our volunteers we simply could not do this without you. Your generosity means everything.

Thank you to everyone who came, who bought, who voted, who created and who cheered each other on.

Bring on 2027..

Join us toady at 2pm for a special gallery talk with Dr Christine Dean as we explore the rich, provocative and often overlooked world of Modernist Gay and Le***an Art, 1910–1970

Through conversation, storytelling and visual exploration, Christine will unpack the artists, movements and cultural moments that helped shape q***r identity and expression through modern art history. From coded narratives and hidden histories to bold acts of visibility and resistance, this promises to be a fascinating and thought-provoking evening celebrating q***r creativity and cultural impact.

This is a free talk, however donations are warmly welcomed to help cover equipment and event costs.
