Blackheath Choir Festival

Blackheath Choir Festival The friendliest choir festival in the world. Blue Mountains NSW Australia Blackheath Choir Festival is normally held over the last weekend of August every year.

However, in 2013, for the first time, we will be taking a break. Yes folks, the next festival will be in 2014. It's becoming so popular that it's bursting at the seams, so we're taking the time this year to completely re-structure, in order to fit more choirs in and perhaps some new events, activities and other new features. One thing won't change though - the Blackheath Choir is not a competition

- it's all about the music! CHOIR REGISTRATIONS FOR 2014 WILL OPEN LATER IN 2013 - drop in to the website, where updates will be posted as they become available. http://blackheathchoirfestival.weebly.com/

This Sunday is Festival Chorus rehearsal day, 9.30am-3pm at Chatswood High School, with our maestro Alex Pringle. It's not too late to register, print off your copy of the music and come along for a Sunday dose of endorphins!

Alex says there is plenty of untimed street parking nearby and food and coffee options within easy walk.

Singers, we need you - for the Festival Chorus, always a fine way to conclude a magical weekend of singing and sharing!

This year's Festival Chorus director Alex Pringle has curated and arranged a beautiful set of folk and popular songs for this year's event, including:
Bring Him Home from Les Mis
Mykonos from Fleet Foxes
Oak and Ash and Thorn from The Longest Johns
Pokarekare Ana NZ traditional
The Boxer from Simon and Garfunkel
Crowded Table from The Highwomen

Being Alex, his audio learning tracks are also fantastic and will make it easy for everyone who wants to give this a go.

Go to the Festival Chorus page on our website and complete the registration so you have access to the scores and the learning tracks. You can always withdraw if you find you don't have the time!

There is nothing quite like the buzz of singing with a massed choir.
