We just had a super interesting session with Briana Cowan (LMCLP 2009) from Mingle Media exploring the practical ways AI can save time, spark ideas and support everyday work.

From meeting notes and minutes to marketing, social media content, deep research and brainstorming, the possibilities are almost endless.

One key lesson was the devil is in the details. The quality of your results depends on the quality of your prompts. Put rubbish in, and you'll get AI slop out. Take the time to personalise your preferred AI tool. Setting your preferences, providing context and refining your prompts can make a huge difference to the results.

Applications are now open for FDF TRAIL Emerging Leaders Program.

Delivered by the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) in partnership with the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s Future Drought Fund, this intensive seven-day program is designed for people working across rural, regional and remote Australia.

If you are looking to advance your leadership skills and navigate uncertainty with confidence, this challenge-based experience blends outdoor learning with practical workshops to help you drive positive impact in your organisation, industry or community.

Who can apply? Future leaders from any rural sector who have previously completed an FDF program with the ARLF.

Cost: Fully funded by the Future Drought Fund (all program costs covered).
Dates: 04–11 November 2026

If there’s one thing our Loddon Murray region proves, it’s that small communities punch well above their weight. Some of our most powerful program days have been in places like Inglewood, Boort, Serpentine, Pyramid Hill, Wedderburn, Tarnagulla and Bridgewater, meeting people who are quietly shaping their towns and creating lasting impact.

Our LMCLP program days in Buloke Shire reminded us of something powerful, small towns thrive because of the people who quietly show up, step in and make positive change every day. In Wycheproof, Charlton, Donald, Sea Lake, Berriwillock and Birchip, we saw leadership woven into everyday actions, creating lasting impact and thriving small businesses resulting in vibrant places to call home.
