👋 Penne here

I’m sharing my top 3 simple foot health tips today – easy things you can do every day to stay on the front foot with preventative care 👣

These are the little habits I’m always talking about in clinic, because they really do add up over time, especially if you’re living with diabetes.

If you’re not sure how your feet are tracking, or it’s been a while since your last check, you’re always welcome to book in and have a chat. Sometimes peace of mind is the best care 💙

Straight off the media circuit - Meet Ash and Susana 👋🏻

After popping up on Win News Central West this week, Ash and Susana are back on the ground working alongside local mental health teams and supporting people across the Central West.

Ash made the move from Melbourne (partner in tow), and Susana relocated from Sydney both now based in Bathurst and working across Strong Minds, headspace services, and alongside partners like Wholechild Specialists and Health in Mind.

It’s a reminder that building a workforce isn’t just about training - it’s about people choosing to show up in communities, get to know them, and be part of the solution.

That’s what CoreConnect Plus is really about. It gives early‑career psychologists the chance to build their skills in real settings and often, to stay and keep building their careers in those same communities.

We’re already seeing the difference that makes locally — people are getting in to see someone sooner, and there are more clinicians on the ground.

Watch the full interview here below 👇

We’re also currently recruiting for new interns to keep that momentum going. Reach out or check out the website for more info: https://www.marathonhealth.com.au/work-with-us/intern-pathways/

Meet Marielle 👋

After making the move from Sydney, Marielle is now working across our headspace & Strong Minds teams in Bathurst and Orange, supporting local communities while completing her psychology internship.

In this Prime7 News Central West story, Marielle shares her experience alongside Zora, Practice Lead of Mental Health Workforce Development, and what it means to train and work in region.

Marielle is one of 55 provisional psychologists supported through CoreConnect at Marathon Health since 2022, helping build stronger mental health services closer to home.

This Reconciliation Week, we’re all in.

Across our Marathon Health sites, our teams came together to share morning tea, reflect, learn, and listen – honouring the leadership, culture and contributions of First Nations peoples.

Reconciliation isn’t a moment in the calendar – it’s ongoing work about respect, relationships, and taking meaningful action, every day.

In this video, you’ll hear from our Karen, our Cultural Capability Lead and First Nations staff from across Marathon Health as they share what reconciliation means to them – in their work, their communities, and their lives.

We know we don’t have all the answers, but we’re committed to listening, learning and doing better – together.

National Sorry Day 26 May 2026. Pause to listen and reflect.

Today on National Sorry Day, we honour the Stolen Generations and acknowledge the impact of policies that separated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities and Country. We pay respect to survivors, their families, and those we have lost.

This year’s theme, From Sorry to Action, reminds us that while saying sorry matters, it is what we do next that counts.

At Marathon Health, we’re committed to listening, learning and working in partnership with First Nations communities to support healing, cultural safety and better outcomes.

Real change takes all of us. Today is an opportunity to reflect on the role we each play in truth-telling, respect and reconciliation.

Meet Matt 👇

At the time of this interview with ABC Goulburn Murray, Matt was just 11 weeks into his CoreConnect Plus journey at Marathon Health, already supporting clients and contributing to conversations around mental health access in our regions.

An Albury local, born and bred, Matt is passionate about giving back to the community he knows so well.
That local connection matters. It means Matt understands the context, the pressures and the lived experience of the people he’s supporting - something that can make a real difference in mental health care.
CoreConnect Plus supports provisional psychologists like Matt to train and work in regional communities, helping build a local mental health workforce and ensure people can access care closer to home.

This month we’re celebrating cracking the 50+ milestone (55 to be exact) of interns in the program at Marathon health since 2022, and we’re just getting started (Orange we are recruiting interns right now!)

Stay tuned for more stories from our interns, past and present.

If you’ve been wondering whether counselling might help, this is a good place to start 💬

In this video, Kristen Zumbo, Counsellor at Marathon Health, shares some common signs it might be time to reach out - like feeling weighed down, having trouble sleeping, or carrying long‑term stress.

At Marathon Health, counselling is a supportive, talk‑based space to help you work through what’s going on, build coping strategies and feel more supported day to day.

There’s no diagnosis or GP referral required, and you don’t need to be at crisis point to get started.

Counselling can support people through:
• stress or feeling overwhelmed
• grief or life changes
• caring responsibilities
• needing a neutral, non‑judgemental space to talk

We currently have appointments available, supporting people across Southern NSW and parts of Victoria, delivered through our Albury office, with options face‑to‑face and via telehealth.

If something in this video resonates, it might be worth taking that next step.

Check out our website to learn more and fill out a referral or give our Albury intake manager Jacinda a call on 0400 690 803

Love this from headspace Dubbo 💚
Huge congratulations to Lilian on such a well-earned achievement 🎓
It takes dedication (and a lot of juggling!) to study while supporting young people every day. Amazing effort!

🎓 Another graduation milestone – congrats Lilian 🎉

Lilian has officially graduated with a Master of Social Work – marking the beginning of putting learning into practice.

Her biggest takeaway?
That while a degree opens doors, relationships, adaptability and lifelong learning shape long term success.
And yes – she says it’s cheesy – but making new connections at headspace Dubbo has been a standout moment 💫"A degree is not the end of learning – it is the beginning of applying it."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves!

With a big shoutout to the headspace Dubbo team and everyone across Marathon Health for the warm welcome and celebration 👏
