Easy leftover pasta idea 🍝✨

This simple pasta dish is part of our Before You Bin It food series, sharing practical ways to use what you already have, stretch food further and reduce waste at home.

Leftover vegetables, fridge bits, pantry staples and cooked pasta can often come together to make a quick, filling and budget-friendly meal. 💚

It does not need to be fancy. Sometimes dinner is simply about checking what you have, using what needs to be used, and turning it into something warm and useful.

Pasta is a great base because you can add almost anything:

☀️ Day 2 of solar progress at New Life Community Care.

The solar panels have now been assembled and are being prepared for fitting on the roof of our emergency accommodation units, made possible through a Queensland Government grant.

This is a meaningful step forward for New Life Community Care. Solar will help reduce pressure on ongoing electricity costs and support the long-term sustainability of our services, so more resources can continue going towards practical care, emergency accommodation and community support. 💚

A big thank you to the Queensland Government for helping make this possible, and to Sam O'Connor MP for his support of our local community.

Bad bananas? Don’t bin them just yet 🍌😂

We call them “bad bananas” at home, but brown bananas can still be brilliant when they’re overripe, soft and still good inside.

This easy banana milkshake is a simple way to use up a brown banana before it goes to waste.

You’ll need:

🍌 1 brown banana
🍯 a drizzle of honey
🍦 a scoop of ice cream
🥛 some milk

💚 Exciting progress at New Life Community Care.

A couple of months ago, we shared a visit from Sam O'Connor MP, who came by to congratulate New Life Community Care on securing a $34,000 grant through the Queensland Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

Today, we’re excited to share that work has now started on the solar installation for our emergency accommodation units. ☀️

A big thank you to the Queensland Government for this support, which will help reduce pressure on ongoing electricity costs and strengthen the practical care New Life provides in the community.

This is a meaningful step forward for our organisation and the people we support. Improvements like this help us direct more resources toward the work that matters most, including emergency accommodation, food relief and practical community support. 🤍
