Last week, we gathered for our annual memorial service to honour, remember and celebrate the beautiful lives of the guests we farewelled between January 2025 and June 2026. 🕊️

It was a deeply moving afternoon at Hopewell Hospice, offering a peaceful space for families and our staff to connect, reflect and share cherished memories.

Back in August, we paused to recognise Daffodil Day, Cancer Council's annual campaign raising funds for life-saving cancer research. 🌻

Working in palliative care has taught her something special: 'Even when we cannot change the outcome, we can make the patient's journey more peaceful and support their family when they need it most.'

Sometimes, kindness grows from a simple visit🌱

After recently touring Hopewell Hospice, the Order of Buffalo’s Grand Australasian Banner chose Hopewell as their 2025/26 Charity of Choice! Moved by our dedicated staff, the care we provide, and the serenity of our beautiful gardens, they rallied together to make an extraordinary impact.

Through donations from 12 Queensland Lodges, the Buffalos generously presented Hopewell with an incredible $8,000 to support our services. đź’š

Meet Ange, a much-loved member of our nursing team, who always felt a calling to work in palliative care. Ange joined the Hopewell team earlier this year, and considers it a privilege to walk alongside families at a time when every moment—no matter how big or how small—matters.

“I've always had a calling to work in palliative care. Being able to provide comfort, peace and a little bit of laughter at times when patients and their families are going through one of the hardest times in their lives can only be described as a privilege. I knew this was the right place for me as the energy when you walk into a place like Hopewell for the first time felt light and serene.”

The team at Hopewell wish you both a very happy birthday and thank you for all that you do.

Julie is one of the wonderful faces behind the delicious meals that come from our Hospice kitchen each day. Her care, kindness and beautiful cooking bring comfort to our guests and families.

Jutta is one of our Administration Officer who seamlessly makes everything come together behind the scenes.

We hope both your days are filled with as much joy as you bring others.
