In the remote village of East Majherpara in Hwanak Union, Maheshkhali, where we are constructing Alhamdulillah, four cows and three goats were sacrificed this year.
Our objective was to distribute Qurbani meat among the families of enrolled madrasa students, as well as at least 300 surrounding families, in a way that would allow them to enjoy the blessings of Eid with satisfaction. Accordingly, it was decided that each family would receive between one and three kilograms of meat, depending on their circumstances.
From the moment the animals were purchased, a sense of excitement and joy spread throughout the area. This was because it was the first time such a large Qurbani program had been organized in one location within the community. Many elderly residents expressed their emotions, saying that they had never witnessed such an arrangement in their lifetime.
As the area is extremely impoverished, only a small number of Qurbanis are usually performed there. As a result, from early on Eid morning, large numbers of people came to the madrasa hoping to receive meat. In addition to the families listed on the pre-arranged token distribution system, several hundred more families gathered seeking assistance.
In these circumstances, those who were entitled to receive two, three, or even four kilograms of meat made a sacrifice of their own. They willingly reduced their share so that others could also benefit and no one would have to return home empty-handed. As a result, Alhamdulillah, everyone who came was able to receive Qurbani meat.
In Bangladesh, the distribution of Qurbani meat can sometimes lead to challenging situations. However, Alhamdulillah, due to the patience, sincerity, and selflessness of everyone involved, this year's entire program was completed in a remarkably peaceful and orderly manner.
We believe that through this initiative, countless underprivileged families in this remote part of Maheshkhali were able to experience the joy of Eid and share in its blessings.
The true credit for this successful program belongs to all of you who, despite being far away, chose to stand beside the disadvantaged people of Bangladesh.
May Allah accept your Qurbani, charity, and sacrifices, and reward you abundantly in this world and the Hereafter.
Ameen.
