Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation is an association of all those communities “affected” by the oil and gas mining operations at Mereenie and Palm Valley receiving the royalties payable to those affected communities and groups under the Territory Land Right Act. Ngurratjuta was therefore, originally a royalty association, with a scope of activities covering a range of specialist support services. Ngurratjuta are governed by a wholly indigenous board of directors with representatives from each affected area. Due to the cessation of mining in the affected areas, Ngurratjuta has evolved into an investment organisation with a new business model and structure with the principle aim being strategic business growth, through purchasing, creating and growing current interests.
