‼️ NO POWER CARD 💥💡⚡️‼️
The Tangentyere Artists annual fundraiser is back. This year, donations will go towards supplying ‘power cards’ for Town Camp residents — helping cover essential household electricity costs like heating, lighting and cooking through winter.
If you’ve ever seen a painting by Sally M Mulda and wondered, “What is a power card?” — read on.
Mparntwe / Alice Springs is home to nearly 600 households that must prepay for electricity. The system works much like a prepaid mobile phone: no credit = no power.
More than 90% of Town Camp households experience regular power disconnections due to poverty.
On average, prepayment households are disconnected from electricity 55 times each year — more than once a week.
When power is cut because credit runs out, the average wait before reconnection is around 8 hours.
Families experience ‘no power card’ conditions year-round — through extreme summer heat and the coldest desert winter nights.
Your donation will help prevent households from being disconnected from power, while also being fully tax deductible.
Here’s how to donate — it’s easy!
Click the DONATE button at Town Camp Designs: https://www.towncampdesigns.org.au
OR email [email protected] to arrange payment via EFT or over the phone. All donations are tax deductible and receipts will be emailed to you.
Tangentyere Artists and Tangentyere Council staff will purchase and distribute power cards directly to Town Camp residents using a fair and transparent process, helping support as many households as possible.
Thank you for your generosity and support.

✨ Desert Mob 2025 ✨

We were proud to be part of this powerful gathering of Central Australian Aboriginal art. Our artists shared stories of strength, connection, and Country through every brushstroke.
We were fortunate enough to be apart of this years Artists Talks, where we celebrated the intergenerational success of “The Three Williams - Grandmother, Mother and Daughter. This was truly dear to our hearts as it shows how culture can be passed down through art in a beautiful way!
Thank you to everyone who visited the Tangentyere Artists display at Desert Mob Exhibition and supported our Town Camp artists in celebrating culture and creativity.
Our exhibition still continues until the 31st of October, don’t miss out on taking that little piece of Central Australia home with you!
