What a start to the Desert Hothouse project! It’s been an incredible two weeks in the studio working on the first of our three new works - ‘territory’ by the wonderful . We’re so grateful to have been joined by the entire creative team, flying in from all around the country to join us in this epic project.

‘territory’ is a brave, generous and intense exploration, and the feeling in the studio has been one of softness, of deep interrogation into the concepts, of defining the vision and of laughter, love and connection. Led by the inimitable Frankie Snowdon, the work is shaping up to be something incredibly special.

We did it! Thanks to the incredible generosity of all of YOU, we have finished our campaign AND surpassed our original goal! With the generous donations from our public facing campaign, as well as some private donations made through various other channels, we have raised a total of $29,771 - which will now be DOUBLED through the Plus1 campaign - towards our Desert Hothouse dream 🩷

We’re so excited to bring this project to life, and rehearsals have kicked off this week in Mparntwe, with half of the team already on the ground. Stay tuned for updates and make sure you get your tickets to experience these works in person!

One of the greatest things about Desert Hothouse has been expanding our connections and bringing in new artists to the GUTS team, whether that’s dancers, sound designers, producers or costume designers. Here’s the exceptional , a videographer and projection designer living on Dharug and Gundungurra land (Blue Mountains), who’s projections and live videography will be featuring in each of the Desert Hothouse projects.
