Our centre is not an official mosque, and we are not a registered religious organisation. Yet, for almost 30 years, this place has been serving our community. Every Friday we gather here for Jumu’ah, we celebrate Eid together, we hold community events, and people come here to fulfil their religious needs and spend time with one another.
None of this exists because of a large organisation or outside funding. This place exists because of ordinary people who sincerely give their time, effort and support for the sake of Allah. The building itself has been made available for the benefit of the community, without financial gain or personal profit. It has always been a charitable effort, maintained by people who simply wanted to keep this place open for everyone.
Recently, however, I have noticed that donations have decreased significantly. I understand that times have changed, and in Australia many people now use cash much less than before. So I do not believe this is because people do not want to help. I think, for many people, it may simply be because they no longer carry cash with them.
However, the costs of running the centre continue every week. There are utility bills, cleaning supplies, maintenance, small repairs, painting, and many other day-to-day expenses that are necessary just to keep this place clean, safe and welcoming.
At the moment, many of these expenses are being covered by only a very small number of people. This is simply not sustainable in the long term.
So today I would like to make a humble request. If you regularly pray here and consider this place to be part of your community, please consider supporting it in whatever way you can. No donation is too small. Every contribution helps us continue serving our community and, in sha Allah, will be a source of ongoing reward for everyone who takes part.
If it is easier for you to transfer money rather than donate cash, you are welcome to contact me directly. Many of you already have my phone number, and donations can be made by PayID. You can also include a reference in the transfer if you would like to specify what the donation is for.

Рустам Садри: история лидера татарской общины Австралии

Человек, соединяющий континенты и судьбы: к 80-летию Рустама Садри

Авторская колонка Булата Ишмухаметова об одном из лидеров татарской общины Австралии Рустаме Садри, написанная специально для «Миллиард.Татар».

этом году родные и близкие Рустама Садри собрались вместе, чтобы отметить его 80-летний юбилей. Это была не просто праздничная встреча, а редкий и по-настоящему тёплый семейный день, объединивший людей, живущих в разных частях света. Рядом с юбиляром собрались все четыре его дочери, а за одним столом встретились родственники и друзья, чьи дороги протянулись от Европы до Австралии.

Австралия стала для семьи Садри новым домом, однако начинать здесь пришлось практически с нуля. Рустам Садри приехал в страну молодым человеком, не имея ни готового положения, ни капитала, ни влиятельных связей. Благодаря способностям, трудолюбию и настойчивости он получил высшее образование в Университете Нового Южного Уэльса. Образование, широкий кругозор, владение восемью языками и умение свободно общаться с представителями разных культур помогли ему найти своё место в новой стране и постепенно добиться признания в деловой и общественной жизни. Со временем Рустам Садри стал заметным предпринимателем Южной Австралии, работавшим в сферах строительства, недвижимости и управления предприятиями.
