Youth4Climate (Y4C) is a global initiative that supports the implementation of youth-led and youth-inclusive solutions to environmental and climate challenges, both financially and through capacity development.

How can mentors contribute to the Youth4Climate Mentorship Programme 2026?

At the heart of the programme is one-to-one mentorship: all selected mentors will be matched with one awardee and are expected to provide a minimum of 2 hours per month of tailored support.

Depending on their expertise and availability, mentors may also contribute through:

➡️ Theory in Practice talks
➡️ Investor Showcases and Scaling Pathways

A flexible model designed to combine consistent support for awardees with additional ways for mentors to share expertise.

Why join the Youth4Climate Mentorship Programme 2026?

Because it is a chance to do more than advise. Selected mentors will have the opportunity to:

✅ Connect with a curated network of experts and practitioners
✅ Take part in exchange and learning with fellow mentors
✅ Gain visibility and recognition through UNDP and Youth4Climate communications
✅ Contribute to explainers, reports, toolkits and other knowledge products
✅ Support concrete projects working across climate challenges

The programme is designed to be flexible, with a core commitment of at least 2 hours per month for one-to-one mentorship.

The numbers are in! 🥳 This year's Youth4Climate Call for Solutions drew 2,677 submissions from 121 countries!

Here's a look at who applied, where they're from, what climate challenges they're tackling and more. The Call is a global innovation challenge that supports youth-led climate action through funding and mentorship. Now in its 4th cycle, 50 new projects will be selected from a diverse pool of applications spanning various thematic areas.

Awardees for this year's Call will be announced in August. Stay tuned! 😉

🇦🇹 Youth4Climate is in Vienna for !

Organised by , CleanTech Days brings together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and innovation actors to explore how cleantech can support more inclusive, resilient and future-ready industrial transitions.

Over the first two days, Y4C awardees Joshua Ichor and Lesego Montsho took part in key conversations on cleantech and inclusive industrial transition, alongside innovators, practitioners and partners from across the sector, while also calling attention to the gender and structural barriers that still limit access to climate finance and opportunity for youth and marginalized groups.

The programme also included a visit to Rautenweg, Austria’s largest landfill, where participants explored Vienna’s municipal waste management model and its role in circular economy systems.
