📍 European Paganini Route invited to the First Plenary Assembly of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe active in Italy

The European Paganini Route is honoured to have been invited to take part in the First Plenary Assembly of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe active in Italy, taking place on 29 May 2026 at the Ministry of Culture – Spadolini Hall in Rome.

The Assembly will bring together the certified Cultural Routes active in Italy to exchange best practices, strengthen cooperation and discuss future perspectives for the development of the programme at national and European level.

Following the recent certification of the European Paganini Route as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, this invitation represents an important opportunity to share our vision, connect with other European networks and contribute to the common reflection on governance, funding, alliances and cultural cooperation.

We are proud to be part of this European community, working together to promote cultural heritage, dialogue, sustainable development and the values of the Council of Europe.

📍 European Paganini Route – General Meeting in Parma

The General Assembly of the European Paganini Route was held in Parma in a hybrid format, with members joining both in person and online.

The meeting was an important opportunity to exchange views and discuss the next steps following the Route’s prestigious certification as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
Members reflected on future actions to strengthen the network, develop shared initiatives, promote new events and enhance the cultural, musical and territorial heritage linked to Niccolò Paganini.

This recognition opens a new chapter for the European Paganini Route: a phase dedicated to cooperation, visibility and the development of common projects across Europe.
A heartfelt thank you to all members and partners who took part and contributed with ideas, commitment and enthusiasm.

🎸 Paganini Guitar Festival 2026 – ¡Folia de España!

From 27 to 31 May 2026, Parma will host the XXVI edition of the Paganini Guitar Festival, organised by the Società dei Concerti di Parma.

This year’s edition, titled “¡Folia de España!”, will bring together concerts, masterclasses, competitions, sensory performances, exhibitions of historical and contemporary lutherie, and special events dedicated to the guitar and to the legacy of Niccolò Paganini.

The programme will feature internationally renowned artists including Catalina Pires, Pablo Márquez, Ana Vidović, Pavel Steidl, Aniello Desiderio, Oman Kaminsky, Zoran Dukić, Grisha Goryachev, as well as young talents, orchestras and students from Italian conservatories.

The festival will also include the Paganini Day on 27 May, with events marking the anniversary of Paganini’s death, including a tribute at the Cimitero Monumentale della Villetta, a visit to Villa Paganini, and the evening concert “Le due anime di Paganini” at Palazzo Ducale.

Across five days, Parma will become an international meeting point for guitarists, musicians, luthiers, students and music lovers, celebrating Paganini’s artistic heritage through the expressive power of the guitar.

🎻 GEMS A’ LA PAGANINI 2026 – Celebrating Paganini in Genoa and Lucca

As part of GEMS A’ LA PAGANINI 2026, two special events will celebrate the memory, artistic legacy and European journey of Niccolò Paganini.

📍 Wednesday, 27 May – Genoa�
On the occasion of the 186th anniversary of Paganini’s death, the programme will open at 4:00 PM at Palazzo Doria Carcassi with the conference “Paganini Marchand Luthier” by Maria Rosa Moretti, with the participation of Alberto Giordano. During the event, the “Una vita per Paganini” award will be presented to Andreas Lange.

The day will continue at 9:00 PM at Palazzo Tursi, Salone di Rappresentanza, with a concert from the “Platinum Soloists” series featuring Vadim Brodsky on violin and Clarissa Carafa on piano. The programme includes music by Bach, Beethoven, Paganini, Ysaÿe, Massenet, Saint-Saëns and Weinberg.

📍 Saturday, 30 May – Trip to Lucca “In the Footsteps of Paganini”
�The celebrations will continue with a special trip to Lucca, the city where Paganini lived from 1804 to 1809, beginning his professional career in the service of Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi.
The trip will include visits to places connected to Paganini’s life and music.

A historic milestone for music, culture, and Europe.
The European Paganini Route has been officially certified as a Cultural Route by the Council of Europe. This prestigious recognition celebrates the universal value of Niccolò Paganini’s artistic legacy and the collaborative efforts of partners, institutions, researchers, and local communities across Europe.

From Genoa to the major European capitals visited by the Maestro, the Route brings together music, cultural tourism, research, and intercultural dialogue, promoting local areas, traditions, and new forms of international cooperation.
