The Knowledge Project is a joint initiative between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) who both share a vision of promoting and strengthening knowledge-based sustainable development. Established in 2008, the Knowledge Project initiatives to date include the Global Knowledge Index, the Future of Knowledge Foresight Reports, Arab Knowledge Index, the Knowledge4All portal, the Arab Knowledge Report Series, the Knowledge Weeks, and others.

Across the Arab States, unemployment remains a persistent challenge.

While global unemployment declined from 6.3% in 2010 to 4.9% in 2026, the rate across the Arab States increased from 9.6% to 9.8%.

Women and young people continue to face significant barriers to economic participation and access to employment opportunities. That is why, through the , we put skills development at the centre to help learners keep pace with a rapidly changing economy and prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow.

لا تزال البطالة من أبرز التحديات التي تواجه المنطقة العربية.

ففي حين انخفض معدل البطالة عالمياً من 6.3% عام 2010 إلى 4.9% عام 2026، ارتفع المعدل في المنطقة العربية من 9.6% إلى 9.8%.

ولا تزال النساء والشباب يواجهون تحديات كبيرة في المشاركة الاقتصادية والحصول على فرص العمل. ومن هنا، نضع من خلال تنمية المهارات في صميم جهودنا، لمساعدة المتعلمين على مواكبة التحولات المتسارعة في الاقتصاد والاستعداد لفرص المستقبل.
