We are connecting with young people, sharing information and creating open, safe spaces to talk about contraception, SRHR, GBV, general health and wellbeing. No judgement, just real conversations and useful information.

Young farmers are not just the future of agriculture, they are already building it.

Today in Harare, Restless Development Zimbabwe is bringing together young farmers from Harare and Nyanga, government stakeholders, private-sector actors, development partners and other agricultural value-chain actors to discuss what it takes for young people to build and grow sustainable agricultural enterprises.

Through the Agri-ELEVateD Project funded by OAK Foundation, the engagement creates space for young farmers to share their experiences, challenges and priorities, while stakeholders explore practical ways to strengthen youth participation in agriculture.

The conversation is focusing on issues that directly affect young agricultural entrepreneurs, including:

- Access to finance and markets
- Technical and business skills
- Extension services and agricultural information
- Technology and productive assets
- Value addition and agricultural value chains
- Climate-smart and resilient agriculture
- Inclusion of young women and young people with disabilities

The aim is to turn these conversations and experiences into practical recommendations, stronger linkages and follow-up actions that can contribute to a more supportive environment for young people in agriculture.

We are at the official launch of the Campaign, and we are excited to see young people, Government, NGOs, development partners, civil society and other stakeholders coming together with one shared commitment: to click for change and take action to end Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

The campaign, is creating space for young people to use the power of digital platforms to raise awareness, challenge harmful norms, share information on GBV prevention and reporting, and encourage meaningful action.

From social media conversations to community action, every click can help amplify voices, connect people to support and strengthen the movement to end GBV.

Empowering young people to thrive in agribusiness

Restless Development, in partnership with the Oak Foundation, is supporting young people to unlock opportunities in agribusiness, build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to Zimbabwe’s agricultural economy.

The initiative is creating opportunities for young people to strengthen their skills, develop enterprises and turn innovative ideas into viable businesses.

YOUNG PEOPLE ARE LEADING THE CHARGE TO END GBV!

Young people across Zimbabwe are stepping forward to drive action against gender-based violence.

Restless Development Zimbabwe, with support from UN Women, has launched the to End GBV Campaign, a 10-month youth-led initiative using arts, technology and digital innovation to challenge harmful gender norms, amplify survivor-centred voices and advance gender equality.

The campaign will:
- Engage 450 young artists, innovators and digital content creators
- Reach at least 150,000 people
- Work across Harare, Bulawayo, Manicaland, Mashonaland Central and Masvingo
- Use hackathons, community theatre, spoken word, murals and social media to inspire action.

The initiative is funded by the European Union and the Embassy of Switzerland, with support from UN Women, and builds on the success of the Spotlight Initiative.

OUR HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES

Restless Development extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and loved ones of H.E. Ms. Katrin Hagemann, as well as to the European Union Delegation to Zimbabwe, following her passing.

Ambassador Hagemann was a strong supporter of youth development and meaningful youth participation. She consistently championed the inclusion of young people in important conversations and platforms, recognising their voices, ideas and leadership as essential to building a better future.

Her commitment to creating space for young people to participate and contribute will be remembered with deep appreciation.

At this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with her family, colleagues and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.

May her memory continue to inspire the work of those committed to empowering young people and creating a more inclusive future
