📢 Parliament is in our communities THIS WEEK, 5 to 9 October 2026!

The Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance and Investment Promotion is holding 2027 National Budget consultations in all 10 provinces. This is our chance to speak up before the Budget is presented.

For people living with HIV, our asks are clear:
✅ Uninterrupted ART and HIV treatment
✅ More domestic funding for health and HIV
✅ Viral load testing and essential commodities
✅ Enough health workers and well-supported clinics
✅ Timely release of approved health funding
✅ A plan to sustain services as donor funding reduces
✅ Communities at the table in budgeting and monitoring

❓ Ask this: What will the 2027 National Budget do to make sure no PLHIV experiences treatment interruption because of lack of funding?

ZNNP+ extends its appreciation to the Parliament of Zimbabwe, Thematic Committee on HIVAIDS and Parliament of Uganda Committee on HIV/AIDS & Other Related Issues following the benchmarking visit to our offices on 16 September 2026.

The engagement reaffirmed the importance of South-to-South and African exchange learning, particularly as countries navigate a rapidly changing HIV funding landscape.

For people living with HIV, sustainability means more than financing. It means uninterrupted treatment, medicines and diagnostics being available, functioning community systems, accessible services, treatment literacy, dignity and a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect our lives.

Now more than ever, we call for strengthened domestic financing and national ownership of the HIV response.

Communities of PLHIV must remain at the centre, not only as recipients of services, but as partners, advocates and accountability actors who can monitor service delivery, identify gaps and track commitments made towards financing and sustaining the HIV response. ZNNP+’s community-led monitoring model already connects community evidence with decision-making and follow-up.

As the funding environment changes, we must protect the HIV gains achieved across our region by strengthening partnerships between Government, Parliament, communities, civil society and development partners, while ensuring that community systems themselves are sustainably financed.

Exchange learning must lead to action. Commitments must translate into resources. Resources must translate into services. And services must reach the people who need them.

Together, we can build an HIV response that is nationally owned, sustainably financed, community-led and accountable.

🌟 Happy New Week, ZNNP+ Family & Partners!

As we step into a new week, our Communications & Advocacy team is looking back with immense gratitude and enthusiasm at the incredible milestones achieved last week! 🚀

Last week, ZNNP+ had the honour of hosting a high-level benchmarking delegation from the Ugandan Parliamentary Committee on HIV/AIDS and Related Matters, accompanied by our very own Zimbabwe Parliamentary Thematic Committee on HIV/AIDS.

It was a powerful demonstration of South-South learning, where we shared insights on:
🔹 The operationalization of Zimbabwe’s 3% AIDS Levy and ZNNP+’s Social Contracting Model 💡
🔹 Reaching men and overcoming social stigma through peer-led community structures 👥
🔹 Digital innovations like the Kutabila Virtual Platform and real-time Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) 📲

What’s on the agenda for this week?
We are hitting the ground running! Our focus turns to following up with key stakeholders, parliamentarians, and partners to turn these exchange insights into lasting systems. We remain dedicated to:
✅ Strengthening Domestic Financing: Advocating for sustainable, domestic resource mobilization mechanisms that guarantee long-term health funding.
✅ Safeguarding Community-Led Response: Protecting and scaling up the hard-won gains driven by communities living with and affected by HIV.

Honored to be part of the Interactive Multi-Stakeholder Hearing convened as part of the preparatory process for the 2026 High-level Meeting on HIV/AIDS, taking place today, 14 May 2026, at the United Nations Headquarters.

We are especially proud that our Executive Director, Tatenda Makoni, will deliver the closing remarks during this important global dialogue on the future of the HIV/AIDS response.

The hearing brings together governments, civil society, communities, development partners, and other stakeholders to shape commitments and priorities toward ending AIDS as a public health threat.
