THAW recently had the opportunity to attend a GBV Indaba hosted by the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe focused on unpacking the implementation of Zimbabwe’s High-Level Political Compact on Ending Gender-Based Violence.

The discussions highlighted progress made, ongoing challenges, and the urgent need for stronger action around women’s rights, digital violence, survivor support, financial empowerment, and accountability.

As THAW, we remain committed to learning, advocacy, and creating safe spaces that empower women and strengthen communities.

Our recent Self-Worth Outreach in Stoneridge marked an exciting milestone for THAW as we continue expanding our reach and impact into new communities. 🎉

The outreach was a truly meaningful and memorable gathering, where women came together to learn, connect, and be empowered through important conversations around self-care, gender equality, income-generating projects, and sustainable development.

With over 60 women in attendance, the engagement, enthusiasm, and openness shown throughout the day were deeply encouraging. The outreach highlighted the growing need for safe spaces where women can access knowledge, support, and opportunities for personal and economic growth.

As THAW, we are proud to be extending our work into Stoneridge and remain committed to walking hand in hand with the women in the community through initiatives and sustainable income-generating projects.

We are also grateful for the warm welcome from the community, who have already invited us back to continue the journey together at the same venue. 💫

At our recent Kariba Self-Worth Outreach, important and honest conversations were shared by women about the realities they face daily. ❤️

Many spoke about financial dependence, the rising cost of living, emotional stress, depression, and the impact these challenges have on their confidence and sense of worth. Others highlighted how limited financial literacy and lack of income opportunities often leave women feeling trapped and unable to meet even their own personal needs.

But through these conversations came a powerful reminder: ❤️ also means believing in your ability to start — no matter how small. From selling small goods at home to creating sustainable income streams, women encouraged one another to take ownership of their growth and independence.

At THAW, we continue to create safe spaces where women can speak openly, heal, learn, and be reminded that their value is not defined by hardship or circumstance.

“Love yourself” is more than a simple phrase — it is a daily decision.

It is choosing to see your value, even when the world tries to make you question it. It is learning to honour your feelings, protect your peace, and set boundaries that reflect the respect you deserve.

Loving yourself means understanding that your worth is not defined by how much you give, how much you endure, or how others treat you. Your worth exists — fully and completely — just as you are.

As we continue our self-worth awareness journey this April, THAW encourages every woman to take a moment to reconnect with herself. To choose growth, to choose healing, and to choose spaces and relationships that reflect dignity and care.

Because when a woman truly loves herself, she no longer settles for less than she deserves — she rises, she speaks, and she walks confidently in her worth. 💜
