Schools opened today for Term 2, and while many see just school children, we see future doctors, teachers, farmers, leaders, engineers, and impactful contributors to society, regardless of their backgrounds.

Through the Schools Feeding Programme, local community volunteers, ORAP, Mary's Meals, and Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education are helping nurture those dreams with one warm serving of porridge at a time. What may seem small to some has become a source of hope, improved attendance, concentration, and brighter futures for many children.

Smiles that tell a story of hope, nourishment, and brighter futures 😊

Through the Schools Feeding Programme, our true VIPs, the students, are reminded every day that they are seen, valued, and supported. A warm meal does more than satisfy hunger; it fuels concentration, boosts attendance, and strengthens their educational journeys in a meaningful way.

As schools prepare to open, we are excited and ready with our dedicated community volunteers, who have been resting during the break and are eager to return to what they do best, serving with love, care, and commitment to their communities.

Together, we continue to invest in our children at this critical stage of their lives, ensuring that no learner is left behind because of hunger. The impact is real, the smiles are genuine, and the future is brighter because of it.

Happy Workers' Day.

Under the 2026 theme, “Honouring the Dignity of Labour – Defending Workers’ Rights, Fair Wages and Social Protection for All,” we proudly recognise not only ORAP staff, but also the countless community members across rural areas who are the backbone of our work.

From farmers, artisans, and livestock keepers to those driving innovation through tech skills and small enterprises, your hands, your resilience, and your commitment continue to sustain livelihoods and transform communities every day.

As we celebrate, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting sustainable livelihoods, advocating for fair opportunities, and strengthening systems that ensure no worker, formal or informal, is left behind.

The Matobo District community has been greatly uplifted through valuable training on donkey care and management. Donkeys play a vital role in rural households, supporting nearly all forms of hard work, and this initiative has strengthened knowledge on proper shelter, nutrition, and overall health to ensure their well-being.
This impactful work has been made possible through funding from The Donkey Sanctuary, in partnership with Save the Children in Zimbabwe and the Government of Zimbabwe.
Importantly, this knowledge will not end here, it is expected to cascade to wider communities, reaching even those who were not directly part of the programme, ensuring broader impact and sustainable change.
