As we're still commemorating the day of the African Child, civil society organizations are tasked to be accountable to their target deliverables and beneficiaries especially acting in line with the Children's Act and the Statutory Instrument 13, in regards of children's rights. The question now is, What are the milestones since 2010 has the country achieved, especially budget assessments in children's programming?

Women living in rural areas should be celebrated as they contribute so much towards our country's culture and diverse traditions. They carry and are deserving all rights that women have. Precious Hearts women's Haven and Unathi Children's Network Trust were part of a number of organizations present at Chiwutsi primary school, where the Minister of Woman's Affairs, presided the commemoration held.

PreSADC summit engagement on the Rights and welfare of children. The statistics of abuse of children are still alarming in our Southern region hence the plight of the welfare of children goes on.

As we celebrate The Day of The African Child, Unathi Children's Network Trust Precious Hearts women's Haven Population Services Zimbabwe and Joy Of All Generation Centre-JOAG teamed up to make the day of Lake Chivero Secondary school children and other little toddlers a blissful day.

Sexual Reproductive Health Rights affect both the boy and girl child. The beneficiaries have been privileged to access sanitary pads and boys briefs because it is a solemn right for every child to have appropriate clothing and access to menstrual care and hygiene. Coming from an underprivileged community is bad enough hence it has been ideal that we support the young ones by giving them 4 months supply of pads and the boys getting 4 pairs of underwear each.

The event was not just a celebration but was an awareness campaign as well were the children found themselves learning more about rights and responsibilities. The children were encouraged to participate in community development programs through the guidance of their guardians and teachers. The girls were also encouraged to learn how to hand make their own sanitary pads which are economic and sustainable.

As we celebrate The Day of the African Child, children from Lake Chivero secondary did poetry which is part of our culture and heritage. They gave a drama piece which showed the various forms of abuse girl children go through which is aided by the patriarchal systems and norms that are still present in this modern day. Patriarchy is still a trojan horse that is killing the development of young women and girls. This virus has seen many communities fail to develop as young girls are oppressed denied opportunities for growth and viewed as inferior. Through the activities shown by the children during the celebrations, boys and girls can and should exist in equilibrium.

Good day. Please support our initiative, boys coming from underprivileged homes need underwear as much as girls need pads. We want to change the narrative, when girls receive pads and grooming on menstrual health and hygiene, boys too should get an equivalent. Let's help girls and boys living in rural areas get pads and underwear as we advocate for their Sexual Representative Health Rights.

As we celebrate the today, Child marriage is CRIMINAL, it is R**E! Sexual exploitation of girl children in Zimbabwe is still a cause for concern which should be regarded as a National State of Emergency!

Child protection and safeguarding policies should be implemented as noted this was highly lacking during the Zimbabwe 2023 harmonized Parliamentary and Presidential elections. Isolated cases of violence against children during the elections were noted in various polling stations.......
