I'm asking my friends, my family, my followers, and even those who have never met me to please read this. I'm not asking for myself. I'm asking on behalf of 130 children who are about to experience something many of us take for granted. ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
On ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐, ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, HASHTAG SA UNITE will be taking 130 children from a financially disadvantaged school on an educational excursion to Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront.
For many of these children, this will be their ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฆ ๐ง๐ฅ๐๐ฃ.
Their ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง ๐ง๐๐ ๐ travelling beyond the boundaries of the community they call home.
Their ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง ๐ง๐๐ ๐ standing on top of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, looking out over a city they've only ever seen in pictures or from a distance.
Just imagine that for a moment.
Imagine being a child who has spent most of your life seeing the same streets, the same struggles, and the same surroundings. Then, one morning, someone tells you that you're going on an adventure.
You're getting onto a bus. You're going up Table Mountain in a cable car. You're going to see the ocean, the harbour, and a world much bigger than the one you've always known.
And for one beautiful day, you get to experience the simple joy of being a child. โค๏ธ
That's what we're trying to give these 130 children.
And by God's grace, we're almost there!

We've secured their RETURN CABLE CAR TICKETS up and down Table Mountain.

We've secured their TRANSPORT to and from their school.
โ
We've secured PACKETS OF CHIPS for all the children.
But there's one important piece of the puzzle still missing.
๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฟ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฟ 130 ๐พ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐๐๐.
Unfortunately, a commitment we were counting on from a local supermarket regarding their meals has fallen through, leaving us disappointed and scrambling to make another plan.
But here's something I've learned through years of serving people.
A disappointment is not necessarily a defeat. Sometimes it's simply an opportunity for someone else to become part of the blessing.
And perhaps, just perhaps, that someone is YOU๐ซต๐พ. โค๏ธ
๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐'๐ฆ ๐ช๐๐๐ง ๐ช๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฌ ๐ก๐๐๐:

๐ Or any other suitable Halaal meal.

๐ Alternatively, complete party packs or refreshment packs would be an incredible blessing.
We are not asking for anything fancy.
We simply want every child to have something decent to eat and drink while enjoying what could become one of the most memorable days of their childhood.

We've calculated that approximately ๐ฅ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐๐ will help us cover their meal, snacks, and refreshments.
That's it. Just ๐ฅ๐ฑ๐ฌ.
For some of us, ๐ฅ๐ฑ๐ฌ is a takeaway coffee and something small to eat.
For one of these children, ๐ฅ๐ฑ๐ฌ could mean sitting alongside 129 other children, enjoying a meal, laughing with friends, and feeling that somebody cared enough to make their day special.

DO YOU WORK FOR A COMPANY, SUPERMARKET, RESTAURANT, TAKEAWAY, CATERER, FOOD SUPPLIER, OR BEVERAGE DISTRIBUTOR?
Please speak to your manager.
Speak to your boss.
Speak to your colleagues.
Perhaps your company can sponsor 20 meals. Perhaps a restaurant can prepare 50 hotdogs. Perhaps a beverage supplier can donate 260 drinks.
You don't have to carry the entire burden to make a meaningful difference.
If 13 people sponsor 10 children each, we've covered everyone.
If 130 people give R50 each, we've reached our target.
And if one generous business decides to take care of everything, 130 children will have another reason to smile.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ORDINARY PEOPLE DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY TOGETHER.

Yes, the notice is terribly short.
Yes, the challenge is real.
And yes, we understand that times are financially difficult for so many people.
But I've seen what God can do with willing hearts and open hands.
๐ง๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฆ.
In three days, a phone call can open a door.
In three days, a business can make a decision.
In three days, 130 strangers can each sponsor one child.
In three days, a community can turn a desperate appeal into a beautiful testimony.
Never underestimate the power of THREE DAYS when people come together with one purpose.
The Bible reminds us in Matthew 19:26:
"With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."
And James 4:2 reminds us:
"Ye have not, because ye ask not."
So today, I'm asking.
Not because it's comfortable asking for help.
Not because we expect anyone to give.
But because 130 children are depending on us, and their excitement deserves to be met with something more than an empty lunchbox.
I refuse to believe that in a city filled with so many caring, generous people, we cannot find a way to feed 130 children.
