We recently supported potential 2027 Bursary Students through a combination of eligibility screening and career guidance

A key part of the process was helping students better understand their interests, strengths and possible career pathways so they can make more informed decisions about their studies and future.

Through the Career Assessments, students were able to explore suitable fields of study, identify areas of potential and begin thinking more intentionally about the opportunities available to them after Grade 12. 🌱

Our bursary process also included the necessary checks to ensure support is allocated responsibly and in keeping with SANZAF’s commitment to good stewardship and Amanah.

We believe bursary support should go beyond funding alone. It should also help young people gain the clarity, guidance and confidence they need to build a meaningful future.

This morning, Fayruz Mohamed, SANZAF 1st National Deputy Chairperson, was live on air inviting youth, families and padel enthusiasts to rally behind education at the SANZAF Rally for Education Padel Tournament at Arturf Padel Arena, Paarden Island.

And the timing could not be more meaningful.

Today, SANZAF officially opens bursary applications for the 2027 academic year for students in need.

That means every serve, every smash and every entry into the tournament helps support something bigger, opening doors to education and creating opportunities for students to pursue their future.

Following our recent Careers Day, a group of students were placed in a Panel Beating Programme with Liberty Test Facility to gain practical industry experience.

Just two weeks into their training, we’re proud to share that two students have already secured employment with Car Craft. ✨

They’re now building their skills on the job through:
🎨 Colour matching
🔧 Spray gun techniques
🚘 Panel finishing
🦺 Professional workshop safety

We recently hosted a Mental Health Wellness Gathering for our sisters, creating a safe and relaxed space to reflect, connect and simply take a moment for themselves💚

The morning included Quran recitation, wellness reflections, breathing exercises, meaningful conversations, dua, tea and a shared meal, all centred around creating a sense of support, care and sisterhood.

One of the most meaningful parts of the gathering was seeing women connect openly with one another, reminding us how important it is to create spaces where they can feel heard, supported and valued.

We also distributed books to those joining our Bamba Butterfly Book Club, which begins next month, giving them another opportunity to come together regularly for reading, reflection and meaningful conversation. 📚🦋

A special milestone for SANZAF’s Agriculture Project as participants gathered for the programme’s first harvest

We welcomed 37 enthusiastic participants to a hands-on Gardening Workshop focused on practical skills, sustainability and food security

The session combined theory with real-world learning as participants explored:

🌍 Different types of soil and sand
🍂 How compost supports healthy plant growth
♻️ How to make compost at home
💧 Installing a simple drip irrigation system
🐛 Natural pest-control methods
🥬 Harvesting techniques

From tending crops to learning about sustainable growing methods, participants are building skills that can contribute towards food security, self-reliance and future livelihood opportunities.
