On Thursday, 7 May 2026, the Centre participated in the Capewinelands Sisterhood – Youth Career Day. The event brought together local businesses from various sectors to empower young people by exposing them to a range of career and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The Centre was part of this initiative to showcase all the programmes that are available for the youth of Drakenstein.

Mbekweni Youth Centre, in collaboration with the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, hosted students and teachers from Austria in Mbwekweni.

Our main focus was to introduce them to the Mbekweni community, culture, schools, and informal settlement.
