Have you ever wondered how?
How does CCCO, or any NPO organisation, continue to see another day? How do the staff cope while working in administration, finance, transportation, cooking, cleaning, maintenance, and caring for the children?
Just a few weeks ago, I used to ask myself these very questions as I was a newly appointed staff member. I observed how everyone continuously does their best each day, not simply because they work at CCCO, but because they are doing the good work of the Lord and fulfilling His will.
On Wednesday morning, from 07:45 to 08:15, our CEO, who is not only our leader but also our caring and loving pastor invited the staff to a time of worship.
It was beautiful to witness that although many of us had tasks waiting for us, we made time for the Lord and invited Him into our morning. We, the CCCO staff, put Jesus first. We know that we cannot do anything without Him.
As each staff member quietly made their way into the boardroom, I noticed that their faces carried emotions that words cannot fully describe. What was only an invitation for worship meant something much deeper for someone else…
Our premises are not only a building; they have become a House of the Lord. A place where chains of trauma are being broken, a place of refuge, love, and healing.
As we sang, I looked around the room and was reminded that each person carries their own crosses, their own challenges, and their own moments where they need God’s strength.
Our heads were bowed, and I could see the silent tears glide down my colleagues’ faces. My eyes caught a glimpse of one of our colleagues who was holding onto a tissue she had been using. It portrayed a message that she was going through a season, and the way she was firmly holding onto that tissue reminded me of how she continues to hold onto God and His promises. She holds on to her faith.
Each tear has its own weight. Each tear has its own voice.
We sometimes praise and appreciate the well-being of CCCO when we look from the outside, but we tend to mistakenly overlook the people behind it. The people responsible for it.Each department at CCCO goes through seasons of challenges, growth, and learning, yet above all, they continue to show up day by day to serve.
During our worship, the Lord humbled me by answering all my questions. We are able to continue because we are servants of the Lord. We know that the Lord provides our daily bread, that He hears our prayers, and that He provides us with strength.
