🌨️ Winter Clothing Appeal for Amber 🌨️

Friends and family of House Nehemiah, we have a special request.

On Tuesday, we welcomed Amber, a 17-year-old young lady, into our care. As we prepare to bless all our children with winter clothing hampers, we have realized that Amber does not yet have a hamper of her own.

We would be deeply grateful for any new donations to help keep her warm and comfortable during these cold winter months.

Amber's sizes:

Items urgently needed:
• 1 x Winter Jacket
• 2 x Tracksuits
• 3 x Long-Sleeved T-Shirts
• 2 x Knitwear Jerseys
• 2 x Jeans
• 1 x Pair of Tekkies/Sneakers (Size 6)
• 1 x Pair of Boots (Size 6)
• 2 x Warm Winter Pyjamas
• 1 x Winter Gown
• 1 x Pair of Slippers

Any additional warm clothing, socks, beanies, scarves, or other winter essentials would also be greatly appreciated.

This afternoon, we welcomed *Amber (17) into our care after an urgent call for placement. Her situation was desperate, and she needed safety immediately.

No matter how many years we do this work, it never gets easier to witness the pain caused when the very adults who are meant to love, protect, and nurture children become the ones who break that trust.

Today alone, we received calls for six children who needed emergency placement. My heart breaks knowing that there are so many vulnerable children in need, while resources and available space remain so limited.

As we prepared a bed for yet another child, I found myself praying. The reality is that we simply do not have the finances to sustain every placement we are called to accept. Currently, the government does not subsidise 14 of the children in our care. From a financial perspective, saying "yes" often makes no sense.

But when a child needs safety, love, and a place to belong, how do you say no?

So we choose faith. We choose to trust that God will provide as we serve "the least of these." We believe that every child deserves protection, dignity, and hope, regardless of whether the funding is there.

Today, we have two requests.

Firstly, please pray for Amber. Pray that she would experience God's peace, protection, healing, and love during this difficult season. Pray that the trauma she has endured would not define her future, and that she would find hope, safety, and restoration as she begins this new chapter.

Secondly, if you are able to support our work in any way, whether through a once-off donation, a monthly contribution, or by sharing this post, it would mean more than words can express. Together, we can ensure that children like Amber have a safe place to call home when they need it most.

Today we are overwhelmed with gratitude for every single person who stepped up to help sponsor our 36 precious children with brand new winter clothing. Your willingness to stand with our children during this cold season means more than words can express. ❤️

Because of you, our boys and girls will feel warm and loved this winter. Thank you for being part of our village and for helping us restore dignity and joy to these young lives.

We are still waiting on a few hampers for some of our kiddies, but we cannot wait to share a detailed update and photos once all the children have received their items.
