CHELO CHELO is a registered NPO created in 2007 by a group of parents in partnership with Hout Bay International School (HBIS). chelo has tax and donor tax exemption.

CHELO funds all other direct (financial, social & educational) costs of our bursary children.

Applications for the 2027 Grade 1 (PYP1) Bursary Place at Hout Bay International School are open! 🎓✨

Through our partnership with Hout Bay International School, CHELO is proud to offer a life-changing educational opportunity for local children.

🗓 Key Dates:
Applications Open: 4th May 2026
Applications Close: 31st May 2026

📍 Criteria:
Applicants must be born between 1st Jan 2021 – 31st Dec 2021.
Must reside in Hout Bay.
One parent and the child must be South African nationals.
