Last week Thursday a resident in Albert Road acted quickly on Saturday afternoon after catching an individual attempting to steal from a parked vehicle.

CCP responded and requested SAPS assistance. Once SAPS arrived, the suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

The CCP responder then went to SAPS to provide a statement.

A strong example of how quick reporting, community awareness and coordinated response can make a difference.💥💪

On Friday afternoon, CCP received a report of two individuals known to responders as repeat offenders near the horse trail. Control monitored their movements on PTZ cameras as they headed towards the reeds.

A short while later, a further report was received that the pair had attempted to take a person’s cellphone, but the individual refused to hand it over.

Two CCP responders and two Deep Blue Security vehicles located the pair. Items in their possession included a knife, a wrench and pliers.

SAPS was informed, the situation was brought under control and the individuals were moved on from the area.

Thank you to the community members who reported the activity promptly and to all responders involved.💥💪

On Saturday evening, CCP received a report of a pickpocketing at St Anthony’s Church, during which a wallet containing cash, bank cards and an ID document was stolen.

CCP reviewed CCTV footage and identified an individual matching the suspect’s description. Deep Blue Security subsequently confirmed that the individual had left the area in a taxi.

Later that night, Deep Blue apprehended an individual matching the earlier suspect description in connection with an attempted break-in at Kronendal 1713.

It has since been confirmed that some of the stolen items have been recovered!💥

We remind residents to remain aware of their surroundings, keep personal belongings secure and report suspicious activity promptly. 🙏

Following the devastating fire in Hout Bay, we urgently need toiletries, baby essentials and non-perishable food for those affected.

Yesterday evening, shortly after 20:06, CCP’s Control Room received multiple Buzzer alerts and calls reporting a major accident on Main Road, between the BP garage and the Riding Centre.

CCP responders were dispatched immediately, with a CCP volunteer on scene within 5 minutes to gather information, assess the situation and assist where needed. A vehicle had veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision.

Netcare911 , Metro Ambulance, Fire & Rescue, SAPS and Law Enforcement were on scene. As the response unfolded, a vehicle extrication was required, with emergency teams working to safely access those involved. Two patients were classified as Orange, meaning they required urgent medical attention.

Thank you to the residents who reported the incident quickly, and to CCP responders, Netcare911, Metro Ambulance, Fire & Rescue, SAPS, Law Enforcement and everyone involved in the response.🙏
