We were meant to close our Just Care Donation Drive yesterday… BUT it’s Spring Day, the sun is shining, and we’re feeling generous! ☀️💚

We are deeply grateful to Les Clark’s family for choosing Just Care as the beneficiary in lieu of flowers for her funeral.

Les was committed to Just Care from the very beginning. She was there when we opened our doors, generously giving her time, love and effort. Her kind heart touched the lives of so many children, and her contribution will never be forgotten. Les will be deeply missed.

Thank you for allowing her memory to continue making a difference in the lives of others.

Ons speel Pickleball saam met Tannie Helene - ons is nog in die beginstadium, maar hier kom groot dinge!!!

Kyk die pret wat ons kinders op Vrydag saam met Loki, Gucci, Monty, Basil en die tannies van Angel Paws Theraphy Dogs gehad het! Die hondekoekies was ‘n groot treffer. Ons kuier eenkeer ‘n maand saam met hierdie lieflike honde en tannies!

Ons was bevoorreg om deur SANSA gekies te word vir ‘n donasie van pennesakkies vir die Graad 2’s. Baie dankie aan Tannie Anita en mev. Strauss en die ander personeel wat hierdie donasie ‘n werklikheid gemaak het!

🍅🥬 Making the Most of Every Donation! 💚

We receive weekly donations from Checkers | South Africa , and this Friday we received beautiful cherry tomatoes and baby spinach. With no children at Just Care over the weekend, we didn’t want the fresh produce to go to waste — so we got creative!

We roasted the tomatoes with some spices, added the baby spinach to steam for a little while, and then blended everything once it had cooled. We packed the mixture into bags and froze them, ready to be used when we make pasta for the children. 🍝

It’s a simple way to make sure nothing goes to waste while adding extra vegetables and goodness to the meals we serve.

💚 With Heavy Hearts 💚

Today, we remember and honour two very special women who have been part of the Just Care family.

Lucy Sadie served as a counsellor at Just Care, always making time for the children and caring deeply about their wellbeing. She brought compassion, comfort and a listening ear to those who needed it most.

Les Clark has been with us since the very beginning, when Just Care first opened. She has given so much of herself to the children, our staff, and to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her kindness, generosity and willingness to help will always be remembered.

Both Les and Lucy have left a lasting mark on Just Care and on the lives of so many children and people around them.

They will be deeply missed, but their love, kindness and impact will remain with us. 💚

Our heartfelt condolences go to their families and loved ones during this difficult time.

Thank you, Les and Lucy, for everything you gave and for the difference you made. 🕊️
