Greetings
We are already halfway through 2026. Can you believe that?
The first part of this year has seen us just putting one foot in front of the other.
We have said goodbye to 2 of our babies, well, one was already 6years old, to their forever families. Saying goodbye to children who have been part of your family and hearts for a lengthy period of time is devastating on so many levels, yet rewarding on others. Knowing you have helped to set them up with what they need to have a successful future is really heartwarming.
The adoption of another little one, who was adopted by our care family, came through! Congratulations, Burgess family!
We visit with our care families on a rotational basis. Moving from Fish Hoek to Somerset West to Hopefield and Durbanville. We love these times of connection, seeing the babies and supporting each other.
The need for places of safety has really escalated. So many children need safe places. This is mostly in the foster care area and emergency placements.
We have been so blessed with the big donation we received in 2024. Sadly, it is coming to an end now. We are trusting God for more of the same. We are still making an effort to do some fundraising. Our monthly donor is still supporting us faithfully; however, this does not cover the monthly costs.
We tried a Thrift swop market, it was fun and supported by the community. We will definitely be doing some markets with our leftover stock closer to the end of the year!
We have another fundraiser planned for this year that we are really looking forward to. It is a Spring Tea at Clovelly Country Club on 5 September. We will have a few guest speakers, and of course, our Care families will be attending where possible.
We have said goodbye to Graham Haddad after an 11-year journey of his support as a board member. Thanks, Graham, we appreciate all your valuable input to make Naomi’s Joy what it is today!
Our love
Team Joy
