OPEN CALL FOR CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS & NON-PROFITS

Empowering women entrepreneurs & grassroots changemakers in Mpumalanga ✨

We are proud to partner with Oribi, calling for participation from local civil society organisations in Mpumalanga to take part in a provincial needs assessment and ecosystem mapping process that will help shape future entrepreneurial support in South Africa.

To be ELIGIBLE, ATTENDANCE at a Stakeholder Event on Monday 28 September 2026 is mandatory.

For any enquiries and for the stakeholder event details, please CONTACT:
Angels Resource Centres | Denise Dookoo | WhatsApp 060 804 6505 | [email protected]

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
The Needs Assessment & Ecosystem Mapping is the first stage of the programme.
It aims to identify civil society organisations working within local entrepreneurship ecosystems, understand their strengths and challenges, and strengthen collaboration between civil society organisations and ecosystem stakeholders.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
- Participate in a provincial ecosystem mapping workshop
- Complete an organisational needs assessment
- Share organisational priorities and challenges
- Connect with ecosystem stakeholders and peer organisations
- Contribute to shaping future programme support!

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
Participation in the Needs Assessment & Ecosystem Mapping process does not automatically guarantee selection into later programme phases; does not guarantee access to future training or funding opportunities; and is intended to inform programme planning and identify organisations that may be eligible for future support.

Happy Spring Day, South Africa!

While we're all focused on metal birds flying over a stadium, myriads of smaller winged creatures are quietly waking up to do the real heavy lifting for our natural ecosystems!

From bees pollinating flowers and crops, newly hatched birds flitting around our parks and national gardens, and all the beautiful butterflies fluttering by, spring is a reminder that fresh growth and new seasons start from the grassroots.

Just like rural development 🙃

We hope you enjoy a season full of renewed energy across every corner of the country!

Week 2 of our Q4 Youth4Change programme in Kenhardt brought tech off the screen and directly into the classroom.

From piloting drones to bringing tangible designs to life with 3D pens, participants spent the week exploring what the jobs of tomorrow may actually look like.

We moved beyond standard career advice to unpack emerging industries and practical tech tools, delving into the real-world skills needed to navigate a changing economy.

Exposure changes perspective, and this week has given this group a whole new lens on careers they could build towards.

As always, a big shout-out to our programme sponsor, Scatec!

Tarren Adams moved from Cape Town to Victoria West in 2023, bringing with her a bountiful passion for baking.

She’s now the founder of Lekker Bekkies Bakery and one of our standout entrepreneurs from the 2025/26 Noblesfontein Wind Farm Enterprise4Change programme.

After relocating and starting to bake doughnuts as an initial market test, the overwhelming support from her new community inspired her to take a leap and build a proper business around what she loves.

Then along came Enterprise4Change. Tarren grasped the opportunity with both hands, mastering financial management and marketing, securing essential baking equipment, and pre-stocking ingredients, allowing her to level up her operations.

She’s now been selected as one of the candidates for the E4C Accelerator programme to focus on her next big milestones: growing her business further, employing more members of her local community, and, ultimately securing her own permanent physical bakery 🎂

Tarren, we cannot wait to see what you bake up next!

Thank you to Noblesfontein Wind Farm Community Projects for making this programme possible!

We don’t just do rural entrepreneurial development.

We also facilitate internship programmes for our partners - taking the stress and admin out of recruitment and monitoring and ensuring the best possible candidates are matched with the best possible opportunities, while aiming to support long-term employment and growth for these young individuals.

The majority of the interns we work with end up in permanent roles, a stat we’re particularly proud of!

We’re celebrating 24 young professionals currently completing hands-on roles with renewable energy leaders ENGIE and Anthem.

From recruitment and onboarding to accredited NQF Level 5 training, watching them grow into confident community drivers and impactful technicians has been truly incredible.

A massive thank you to ENGIE and Anthem for their investment in cultivating South Africa's next wave of renewable energy-powered community and business leaders.
