🌿 Notties 2026 – Empowering Tomorrow’s Minds | Day 2 🌿

We also visited a beautiful ECD Centre in Nottingham Road, where we donated packing boxes to help organise educational resources and installed a much-needed toilet door for the little ones.

But we quickly discovered the children were nervous about using the toilet because it was too dark. So, with a little creativity, we added a window to the door to let in natural light—creating a brighter, more welcoming space for them.

A huge thank you to Kuda, our incredible local handyman, who once again went above and beyond to help bring this project to life.

And, we’re proud to say… the AFL ladies assembled a bench too! 😉🔨 Sometimes it’s the little victories that bring the biggest smiles!

🌿 Notties 2026 – Empowering Tomorrow’s Minds | Day 2 🌿

Today was all about rolling up our sleeves and creating spaces that will have a lasting impact on the children and communities we serve. 💚

At Siyakhula School in Rosetta, we transformed the kitchen into a functional, safe and welcoming space by installing new cupboards, flooring, a fresh coat of paint, a 160-litre water tank, cooler chests for storing meat and vegetables used in the school feeding scheme, and packing boxes for educational resources.

A very special thank you goes to Kuda a local plumber and handyman, who generously assisted with the kitchen installation at a significantly reduced cost. Supporting local businesses while uplifting local communities is exactly what this project is all about.

One project at a time, we are building brighter futures. 💙

Notties 2026 – Empowering Tomorrow’s Minds

What a wonderful start to this year’s annual AFL project!

Despite a challenging journey through dense fog, we were incredibly grateful that everyone arrived safely in Nottingham Road.

Our first stop was the Midlands Community Centre, where, in partnership with iFacts, we spent the day with 27 inspiring young women attending a work readiness course. Together we shared practical tips on CV writing, interview preparation, professional presentation and what employers look for during the recruitment process. There were plenty of laughs as we shared stories from our own interview experiences, while encouraging these young women to believe in themselves and embrace every opportunity that comes their way.

We ended the day at the iconic Nottingham Hotel, where the amazing Love Notties- Dream Centre team welcomed us with open arms. It was the perfect reminder of what can be achieved when communities come together with a shared purpose.

Day one is complete, and we can’t wait to share what the next few days have in store!

Unbelievable News!

I'm thrilled to share that after four years, I'm reigniting my transformative journey on the Camino Francés, fueled by unwavering determination and the support of three incredible friends.

With 258 km remaining from Astorga to Santiago, I'm poised to fulfill a dream that was put on hold due to vision loss.

This odyssey, which initially took me 514 km from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France across the Pyrenees into Spain, is now closer to completion than ever.

We begin our walk again from Astorga to Santiago Spain on the 12th to 28th June.

Together with my backpack, I'll carry a flag of remembrance, adorned with ribbons, to honor those who are lost but never forgotten.
