STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT: T3 INCUBATION HUB HOSTS TIA & ABSA STAKEHOLDER VISIT
T3 Incubation Hub had the privilege of hosting a strategic stakeholder engagement initiated by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), which brought Absa Bank on board to gain direct insight into innovation activities taking place at the implementation level across key ecosystem partners.
The engagement commenced at T3 Incubation Hub, where the delegation was welcomed for an immersive site visit and institutional showcase. The session provided a comprehensive overview of T3’s incubation model, operational framework, and integrated service offering, with a strong emphasis on grassroots enterprise development and technology-driven innovation.
Subject Matter Experts from T3 presented across core focus areas, including Business Development Support (BDS), Graphic Design and Digital Services, Coding and Robotics, ICT and Website Development, Drone Technology, and Augmented Reality. The delegation was further taken through T3’s prototyping and fabrication capabilities, including CNC machining, laser cutting and engraving, milling, and 3D printing—demonstrating practical pathways from concept development to market-ready solutions.
Following the T3 engagement, the delegation proceeded to InnoVenton and the Uyilo eMobility Programme at Nelson Mandela University, where each institution showcased its respective areas of specialization. InnoVenton highlighted its work in chemical technology and innovation, while Uyilo provided insights into advancements in electric mobility and transport technologies.
This multi-stakeholder engagement reflects TIA’s commitment to strengthening linkages between funders, financial institutions, and implementation partners on the ground. It further underscores the critical role of collaboration between incubation hubs, academia, and industry in advancing innovation, supporting SMME development, and enabling scalable, technology-driven solutions.
T3 Incubation Hub extends its appreciation to TIA for convening this engagement, as well as to Absa and fellow ecosystem partners for their participation. The engagement marks a meaningful step toward deepening strategic partnerships that contribute to inclusive economic growth and sustainable enterprise development in South Africa.
