CERT CENTURION | OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH

On Saturday evening at approximately 18:41, the CERT Centurion crew responded to a motor vehicle collision in Olievenhoutbosch.

Upon arrival, crews found that a paediatric patient had sustained minor injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle.

The patient was assessed on scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility by Emergency Medical Solutions.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this time.

We would like to thank Emergency Medical Solutions for their assistance and cooperation on scene.

Safety Tip:
Children can be unpredictable around roads and may enter traffic unexpectedly. Motorists are reminded to remain vigilant in residential areas, reduce speed where appropriate, and be especially cautious in areas where children may be present.

CERT CENTURION | GLEN AUSTIN

Saturday evening at around 23:15 our Centurion crew responded to a motor vehicle collision on Allan Road in Glen Austin.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found that a single vehicle had veered off the roadway and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof inside a storm water drain.

The driver was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be extricated using hydraulic rescue equipment, commonly known as the “Jaws of Life”.

Miraculously, the patient sustained only minor to moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in a stable condition.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear and are subject to investigation.

CERT CENTURION | OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH

On Friday evening at around 20:25 our Centurion crew responded to a shooting incident at a local shopping centre in Olievenhoutbosch, Centurion.

Upon arrival, crews found that a security guard had sadly sustained fatal gunshot wounds in the parking area near the exit of the shopping centre.

The incident allegedly occurred following a robbery at a fast food outlet located within the shopping centre.

Several other shots were reportedly fired by the alleged suspects, but fortunately, no other people were injured during the incident.

The incident is currently under active police investigation.

Thanks to Scorpion Risk Services, Copwatch, Axon Security Group, Olievenhoutbosch CPF, Gauteng Emergency Medical Services, Emer-G-Med (Pty) Ltd, South African Police Service, and all other services for their assistance on scene.

At around 17:15, the CERT Centurion crew responded to an incident at a residential home in Valhalla.

An elderly male had fallen onto a large glass jar, sustaining serious lacerations to the head with significant bleeding.

The patient was stabilised on scene and bleeding was controlled before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

We would like to thank Emergency Medical Solutions for their assistance on scene.

Extra caution should always be taken in the home environment, especially around fragile or sharp objects. Ensuring walkways are clear and household items are stored safely can help reduce the risk of preventable injuries.

On Friday morning at approximately 07:00, the CERT Centurion crew responded to a motor vehicle collision at the corner of Basden Road and Rabie Road in Lyttelton.

Upon arrival, it was established that three patients had sustained minor injuries. All patients were assessed and treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital in a stable condition.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear at this stage. The Tshwane Metropolitan Police have opened an accident report and are currently investigating the incident.

We would like to thank Emergency Medical Solutions, Tshwane Emergency Services Department, Tshwane Metro Police Department, First Help, Precision Towing, and all other services on scene for their assistance and teamwork.

CERT CENTURION | JOHN VOSTER DRIVE

On Saturday evening at approximately 18:40, the CERT Centurion crew received a call regarding a pedestrian motor vehicle incident on the corner of Lenchen Avenue and John Vorster Drive.

Upon arrival, it was established that a male patient in his twenties had sustained serious injuries in an alleged hit-and-run incident.

The patient was treated and stabilised on scene before being transported by Netcare911 to the nearest appropriate healthcare facility.

We would like to thank Netcare911 as well as Lyttelton South African Police Service for their assistance and cooperation on scene.

Safety Tip:
Pedestrians and motorists alike are reminded to remain alert in busy intersections and low-light conditions. Drivers should reduce speed in pedestrian-heavy areas, while pedestrians should ensure they are visible and cross roads only when safe to do so.

On Tuesday morning at approximately 06:30, our Centurion crew responded to a motor vehicle collision on Jean Avenue at the N14 highway on-ramp.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found that two light motor vehicles had collided in the intersection. One of the vehicles subsequently veered off the roadway, striking a pedestrian and a traffic light.

Sadly, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

Two other patients sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for further assessment and treatment.

The South African Police Service has opened an investigation into the incident.

We would like to thank all responding services for their assistance on scene, including South African Police Service, Monitor Net, Precision Towing, First Help Towing, ER24 EMS (Pty) Ltd., Emergency Medical Solutions, FunCure, and all other emergency services involved.

CERT VAAL | VEREENIGING CBD

In the early hours of Saturday morning, our Vaal crews responded to reports of a stabbing incident in the Vereeniging CBD area.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found a male patient in a critical condition after he had sustained approximately 11 stab wounds during alleged robbery attempt.

The patient was stabilised on scene before being transported to a local hospital in a critical condition.
