Two-year-old spokesdog Epic celebrated his birthday on 12 May! 🎉🐾

The big storm may have delayed the party a little, but that didn’t stop Epic from making his birthday count for animals in need. Instead of gifts for himself, Epic asked his friends at Hill’s Pet Nutrition to donate food to his friends at ARO.

They did exactly that — with an incredible donation of over 500kg of pet food! ❤️ This will make a huge difference to the patients in our animal hospital, helping us feed sick, recovering and vulnerable animals with the nutrition they need.

Thank you to Hill’s for this generous gift, and happiest of birthdays to our favourite three-legged ambassador, Epic! 🐶🎂

One moment changed his life completely.

This sweet boy’s life changed in an instant after being knocked by a car. What first appeared to be “just” a broken leg turned out to be far more serious. X-rays revealed a severely shattered femur, along with a potentially fatal inguinal hernia that required urgent medical attention.

Sadly, his injuries were so severe that his leg could not be saved and had to be amputated. But in true dog fashion, he is already adjusting beautifully — learning to move around on three legs with so much courage and resilience. 🐾

Through all the pain and trauma, he has remained incredibly loving and gentle, a true reflection of the family who loves him dearly and refused to give up on him. From the moment he arrived, it was clear this boy is deeply cared for and has people fighting beside him every step of the way.

Accidents happen in seconds, but the impact can last forever. Thankfully, he was brought in for care in time, giving him the chance he deserves to heal and recover.

He still has a long road ahead, but he is safe, surrounded by love, and one step closer to getting back to the life he knows with the family waiting for him at home. ❤️

Dedication knows no bounds. 🐾❤️

When love for your pet runs deep, you find a way—no matter what. This incredible owner didn't let a lack of transport stop him from getting his sweet dog the care they needed. With a wheelbarrow lined comfortably with blankets and foam, he made sure his best friend arrived safely and in total comfort.
It’s moments like these that remind us of the powerful, unbreakable bond between people and their pets. It’s not about having the fanciest resources; it’s about having the biggest heart.
Thank you to this dedicated pet parent for doing whatever it takes. You are a true hero in our eyes!

Three dogs. One home. One serious reminder. 🐾

All three of these pups were diagnosed with tick bite fever after being exposed to ticks in the same environment. Early signs can include fever, loss of appetite, tiredness, pale gums, and swollen lymph nodes.

Regular tick control is essential because ticks don’t just cause irritation — they can spread dangerous diseases like tick bite fever (biliary/canine biliary), which can become severe if left untreated. Prevention protects not only one pet, but every animal in the home.

Please keep up with regular tick prevention and contact your vet if your dog seems unwell. 🩺🐶
