🖤 Today, the staff of Learn2Live wear black.

We stand in solidarity with women across South Africa and support the call for greater safety, protection and justice for women.

Every woman deserves to live, work, walk and raise her children without fear.

Today we wear black not simply as a colour, but as a statement: we need ti create a safe society for all.🖤

A valuable morning of listening and learning! 🌱

Together with Ilifa Labantwana, ECD participants from three Metro areas, representing both centre- and non-centre-based programmes, shared their real experiences of the journey from Bronze to Silver registration.

Understanding why ECDs struggle to progress is essential if we want to provide the right practical and on-the-ground support.

Thank you to every participant who shared so openly. 💛

💜 Our Ubomi Oumas 💜

This week our Oumas gathered for another special Ubomi session. 🌿

Our theme was the importance of drinking enough water 💧 — a simple daily habit that plays such an important role in looking after ourselves.

Learning, sharing, connecting and enjoying a cup of tea together. ❤️

Ubomi means LIFE — caring for ourselves and one another.

🌿 Trauma-Informed Classroom – Week 2

Another powerful week with our ECD practitioners! 💛

Learning that behind every behaviour is a need, and that children grow best when they feel safe, seen, soothed and secure.

When we care for the adult, we also create safer spaces for the child. 🌱

👩🏾‍🍳 Little chefs in action at Brainfood! 🧁🍫

Today our children made their own snack — delicious chocolate muffins!

Learning to measure, mix, take turns and work together makes baking so much more than just a treat. And of course, the best part is eating what you made! ❤️

🏠💙 How special is this!

The children had to build a house for a school project, and look what one of them made — our Learn2Live Community Centre!

We love their creativity, and it is so special to know that our centre is a place they chose to call their “house"!

👗 UBOMI LITTLE SISTERS FASHION SHOW 👗

What a beautiful celebration of our Ubomi Little Sisters in Wallacedene! 💕🌸

Our girls stepped onto the runway with style, courage and confidence — each one shining in her own unique way. 🌟

Ubomi Little Sisters is about creating spaces where our young girls can feel seen, celebrated, supported and reminded of their worth.

Today wasn't only about fashion. It was about confidence, sisterhood, joy and giving our girls a space to shine. 💗

We are so proud of every Little Sister who stepped onto that runway!

Beautiful. Brave. Becoming. 🌸

👩‍🍳🧁 Baking Day at House Upon a Rock! 🧁👨‍🍳

Today our little chefs swapped their school hats for chef hats! 🤍

Baking is so much more than making something delicious. Our children are measuring, mixing, following instructions, working together and learning new skills — all while having loads of fun!

At House Upon a Rock, we believe children learn best when they can do, explore, create and experience. 🌱

And judging by those serious little faces… baking is serious business! 😄👨‍🍳

This week, Learn2Live hosted a very special Trauma-Informed Classroom Training. 💛

But this was so much more than a training — it was a community effort.

Our whole team jumped in: laminating, preparing files, setting up spaces, organising transport and making sure every little detail was ready.

One of our team members’ aunts made a big pots of homemade soup and even baked fresh bread. 🥣🍞 A local knitting group lovingly made beautiful knitted bears for our practical work. 🧸 And a local physiotherapist Handri Victor joined us to help our ECD practitioners understand nervous system regulation and how stress and trauma can show up in the body.

We learned. We moved. We reflected. We practised. And sometimes, we simply sat quietly and experienced what it means to feel safe and regulated ourselves.

Because a trauma-informed classroom starts with more than knowledge. It starts with safe adults creating safe spaces for children.

It truly takes a village — and this week, we saw that village in action. ❤️
