We are deeply informed by the lived experiences of communities who have witnessed the extractive and destructive nature of industrial agriculture.

We are deeply motivated by the regenerative nature of small farming communities organizing to heal the land and change the story, and we know that for them to be able to do that
THEY NEED LAND.

Land needs to be permanently removed from the market so that it is no longer caught in the cycle of having its price increased every time it changes hands and its affordability being available to fewer and fewer people.

Land needs to be kept in community and in the hands of people who will use it for its real highest and best use: GROWING GOOD FOOD.

Land is at the heart of power and wealth, and colonization and privatization create and perpetuate land injustices.

When land is transitioned - bought, sold, inherited, or gifted - power and wealth are then transitioned, too.

We have an opportunity this decade and next to create a positive impact on the transition of some of the 400,000,000 acres of farmland, which represents upwards of 70% of the total land transferring in the US, and is amongst the largest wealth transfers the world has ever seen.

Land transition is inevitable.
Land justice is not.
Let's change that.

Donating a vehicle to the Blue Rock Farmland Commons could help the transition of the deed to be transferred. Every dollar gets the project closer to securing the land from development.

Join the Ohio Chapter of the Appraisal Institute for the third installment of the Region V Women’s Initiative Committee (WIN) Speaker Series. This virtual event features Kristina Villa and Annie Warmke in a conversation at the intersection of land, legacy, community, and women leadership.

Kristina will share the origin story of The Farmers Land Trust and the vision behind the Farmland Commons model—a new approach to farmland ownership that prioritizes long-term stewardship, farmer access, and community benefit over extraction and speculation.

Annie is proof that bold leadership grows in unexpected places. From the fields of southeastern Ohio to the founding of the Blue Rock Station Sustainable Living Center and Farm, and having helped develop Blue Rock Farmland Commons, she has championed community, creativity, and the power of women who dare to lead. In this talk, Annie will share hard-won wisdom and practical inspiration to help women step into their strength, find their voice, and lead others toward a better future.

This session offers both a big-picture look at systemic change in farmland access and a grounded, real-world example of how one farm is making that transition today.
