Celebrating a True Leader!

On Saturday, August 1st, the Alpha Delta Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® had the honor of presenting a special Award to a deserving recent high school graduate who is continuing her educational journey this fall.

This year’s recipient of the 2026 “True Leaders Treasure Chest Award” is none other than Ms. Zahara Firven, a recent graduate of Zachary High School in May 2026. Zahara will attend Tulane University this fall, where she plans to major in Chemical Engineering.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to our organizers, Karlitha & Freida, and to all members who supported this initiative through monetary donations, gift cards, school supplies, and other generous contributions.

Your kindness and generosity will help Zahara as she embarks on this exciting new chapter in her life. Your willingness to give and pour into the future of our young people is a beautiful reflection of service, sisterhood, and our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

A warm thank you goes out to the MLK Committee of Zachary for its continued partnership with the Alpha Delta Pi Omega Chapter in serving our community through the Annual Back-to-School Drive, held August 1 at Zachary High School. We were proud to partner once again in helping local students and families prepare for a successful school year.

What a wonderful event for the City of Zachary! Children received backpacks filled with school supplies, enjoyed free food, and were uplifted by encouraging words from the Chief of Police of Zachary and other local officials.

Kanetra, we appreciate your time and efforts to piece everything together as we continue to build relationships with community leaders and organizations in our service areas. Overall, thank you to everyone who came out to lend a helping hand.

We are always grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and pour into our youth as they prepare for another school year. It is our prayer that all of our children have a successful, and blessed school year!

Saturday, July 18th was the perfect day to serve our community as members of the Alpha Delta Pi Omega Chapter volunteered at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Back-to-School Giveaway in Zachary.

Thank you to everyone who dedicated their time. Your willingness to serve made a meaningful impact on the families and students we were honored to support. The smiles on the children’s faces were truly priceless and a reminder of the difference we can make when we come together in service.

A special thank you to the committee members and Kanetra Smith for coordinating with community leaders to ensure that we were ready to serve another year. Through partnerships like these, we proudly uphold our commitment to Service to All Mankind, continuing to make a positive impact in the communities we serve.

A day of fun and fellowship at The Wildflower Festival!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the vendors and enjoyed a day filled with great food, fun, and family activities. The 3rd Annual Wildflower Festival, held on June 5, 2026, was awesome and we were grateful for the community’s support and for the invitation to participate in this year’s festival.

We want to send a special thank you to our committee members and leaders whose dedication, planning, and commitment of time helped to make our participation in this community event possible. Your efforts were truly appreciated and contributed to a successful day.

The Alpha Delta Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® is investing in the future leaders of today and tomorrow as we continue pouring into our communities and giving back through our “Treasure Chest Award.” This award recognizes outstanding students who are making a meaningful difference and creating a positive impact within their schools and communities, while supporting them as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

It is open to graduating high school seniors who will be entering college as full-time freshmen. Applicants must reside in or attend school in the Zachary, East or West Feliciana, or Pointe Coupee Parish.
